- What are the advantages and disadvantages of bottled water
- What is the best bottled water to drink?
- How to use bottled water
Water is a unique substance of inorganic origin. This is the basis of all life on Earth, it is directly involved in various biochemical processes. This substance can serve as a universal solvent that acts on both inorganic and organic substances. Most of the human body consists of water, so it accompanies him throughout life, being its integral part. The article below will talk about what bottled water is, which is better, its main advantages and rules for use.
What does bottled water mean
Based on the definition of the International Association IBWA, bottled water has the following features:
- compliance with GOSTs, hygienic standards of drinking water;
- packing in a sterile container;
- sold for human consumption.
In addition, such water does not contain artificial flavors or sweeteners, and plant extracts and essences in it can be no more than 1%. If this indicator is exceeded, such water will be regarded as a soft drink.
In the international classifier developed by the Federal Commission on Food and Drug Administration (USA), bottled water is divided into the following types:
- artesian water, or Artesian (Well) Water. It is extracted from artesian wells, which are drilled in places where pressure waters are found, located in rocks. When the roof of the horizon is opened, the water enclosed between the water-resistant layers can gush out.
- Drinking water, or Drinking Water, the so-called bottled water. Based on the name, this water is sold for human needs in hygienic containers and does not contain extraneous additives. It has no calories, no sugars. Flavors, extracts or essences of herbs or fruits can be added in a ratio of 1% to the total mass of the final product. For such water, the concentration of sodium ions is normalized - from zero to a small amount.
- Mineral water, or Mineral Water, contains a fairly large amount of dissolved salts (from 0.25 g / l - mineralization in accordance with the world classifier). It is bottled and may be labeled accordingly. It differs from other types of bottled water in a constant level and ratio of elements in the source. Adding additional minerals to such water is completely excluded.
- Purified water(Purified) is produced by distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis or similar methods. The trade name may contain a designation of the filtration method, such as distilled, deionized (softened) or osmosis (according to the method used in production).
- Sparkling (carbonated) water(Sparkling) contains the same amount of CO 2 both when it comes from the source and after processing.
- Spring water(Spring) is mined from underground springs, knocked out naturally to the surface. For industrial needs, in the place of such a key, drilling is carried out to the main aquifer, the outlet is equipped with a pipe through which water is collected and bottled. At the exit, the physical qualities and composition of the liquid should be the same as in the case of natural flow to the earth's surface.
- Well (from a well) water(Well), bottled. It is collected from a well or borehole drilled, excavated or otherwise constructed in the earth's thickness in order to reach an aquifer.
There are three positions in the Russian bottled water classifier:
- Mineral water- is obtained from underground sources (wells) registered according to legislative regulations with the preservation of the primary composition of minerals.
Mineral water, in turn, is divided into the following subspecies:
- medicinal water with a mineralization of 8 g / l or less, containing a large amount of boron, arsenic and other elements;
- medical-dining room - with a content of weight parts of salts in the range of 2–8 g / l;
- dining room - with a mineralization of 1-2 g / l;
- canteen with mineral content in concentration up to 1 g/l.
Mineral water flows in aquifers or pools, which are located between special rocks that enrich the water with healing salts over a long period of time. These minerals are contained in water, dissociating into negatively and positively charged particles - anions and cations. Depending on the composition of various salts in the water, it is divided into bicarbonate, sodium, chloride-sodium-calcium, chloride-sulfate sodium-magnesium, etc. Mineral water is also classified according to pH into acidic, neutral or alkaline.
- artificial called fresh water for drinking, which is processed to mimic the natural mineral or other composition. Artificial mineral water is an ordinary or distilled liquid enriched with chemical components (salts, magnesium, potassium, sodium iodine, etc.) that are present in natural mineral water in identical percentages. This type of mineral water includes products of well-known brands "Borjomi", "Narzan", "Essentuki". Therefore, when choosing which bottled water is better to drink, you should pay attention to the label "artificially mineralized water" on the package.
- The third type of bottled water is drinking water, which is made by the method of deep cleaning of the liquid from the tap. It is freed from iron salts, softened, dechlorinated. Then it is re-disinfected by means of ultraviolet or silver ions. At the final stage, the water is enriched with useful components - fluorine, calcium, magnesium and other trace elements.
Speaking about different types of containers for bottled water, the PET bottle can be called the undoubted leader. The global circulation of water in plastic containers is increasing every year. The thing is that a similar glass packaging, regardless of the turnover, will cost much more than a PET bottle, which is not a pity to dispose of after use. The largest volume of bottled water sales is occupied by products for household needs, which are packaged in PET bottles with a volume of 3 liters or more.
Truths and myths about bottled water
To understand what bottled water is and which is better, you first need to dispel some common misconceptions.
Myth #1 Bottled purified and filtered tap water are no different.
Such a statement will be true if tap water is poured into a bottle, which is purified and artificially enriched with minerals. The presence of images of mountains, forests and lakes on the package is not yet an indication that it contains water from an artesian well. Confirmation of the natural origin of the liquid will be the text written on the label. Water marked as “centralized water supply source”, “conditioned”, “prepared”, “modified” is actually obtained from the tap.
Meanwhile, purified or filtered water and that which comes from an artesian well have a striking difference. Once in the body, the latter delivers useful minerals and substances. And tap water, even if it is purified and conditioned, is dead, which can not only not bring benefits, but also harm human health.
If the label on a water bottle contains information about the source and well number, you can be sure of its quality. Each well from which natural mineral water is extracted is listed in the official state register.
Myth #2. Our ancestors did not know what bottled water is and which is better, using ordinary water from the central water supply, and at the same time they did not get sick. So our generation can do the same.
It is worth considering that a few decades ago, tap fluid was really better in quality. The reason for this was not so much the purity of the reservoirs, which is incomparable with the current one, but the newer communications. Indeed, in new pipes there are no layers and bacteria that worsen the condition of the water.
In European countries such as Switzerland, for example, it is quite normal to serve tap water to the table. The main part of their water communications is made up of quick-change plastic pipes. In our country, the chance of poisoning with tap water is much higher than when drinking bottled water. Because it is much more difficult to control the state of water, which goes a long way from the water intake station to the tap in the apartment, than in a factory where bottled water is bottled.
Another fact that should be taken into account is that tap water cannot harm an absolutely healthy person. At risk are people suffering from chronic disorders of body functions, such as the work of the gastrointestinal tract or the cardiovascular system. At the same time, in the environment of the domestic and foreign scientific community, there is enough evidence that the regular use of tap water can lead to serious diseases, such as bladder or colon cancer.
The assertion that the water in the central water supply system is as good as bottled water spread after representatives of supervisory services in several cities of the Russian Federation reported an improvement in the quality of the liquid in water pipes in the territories under their control. But it is important to take into account that the information in the reports of officials is of a generalized nature. And samples are taken only at water intake stations. The final point of water supply is private and multi-apartment buildings, in which the situation can vary greatly. To avoid possible health problems due to poor quality water, it is better to trust those who are really responsible for the products supplied.
Myth number 3. Good water has no taste.
Any natural water will have its own taste, depending on the mineral composition: calcium, magnesium, sodium and other substances contained in artesian waters. At the same time, for each person, water, even with the same chemical composition, will have its own taste.
The difference in sensations in people is associated with their individual metabolism. Depending on this balance, sweeter, bitterer and other flavors will be felt. The basis of this perception is the nature of the food consumed, for example, the predominance of salty, fried, steam or dairy in the diet.
If the water does not have a pronounced taste, it means that it has undergone distillation, during which all its useful natural qualities are killed, so that later it can be artificially replaced with a minimum set of minerals. Therefore, before choosing which bottled water is better to buy, you should understand that dead water does not bring anything good to the body, but can only take this good away.
Myth number 4. Water in glass containers is of better quality than in PET packaging.
The spread of water in PET bottles in the large market has led to an expansion in the marketing of water-in-glass companies. Therefore, it is natural that different opinions appear about the questionable quality of water in PET containers, supported by human ignorance and the tricks of competitors.
In fact, only water bottling through modern technologies and certified equipment plays a key role in shaping product quality. Under such conditions, there will be no difference between a glass and a plastic bottle. The composition and taste characteristics of the water will be identical. The proof of this is the fact that the same manufacturers have the same products in both glass and PET packaging.
- avoid direct sunlight;
- do not heat or freeze;
- do not leave the container open.
Myth number 5. PET containers release toxic substances into the water.
One of the most common opinions about bottled water is that it contains harmful impurities. This fact has not been confirmed by any study. The only foreign substance that can be in a container with water is acetaldehyde. At the same time, organic compounds of this substance are contained in almost all food products. Even in an ordinary bag of yogurt, the amount of acetaldehyde will be 1000 times more than in a plastic container of water. In addition, if you do not violate the requirements for storing water in PET packaging, this substance will not be released.
At the same time, manufacturers of plastic bottles have long been reinsured and began to include an acetaldehyde neutralizer in the raw materials used. An analogue of such an absorber is found in the human liver. Without this substance, the body would not be able to absorb alcohol.
Myth number 6. The cost of natural water must be high.
This misconception is most common in states that experienced a shortage of goods. Citizens in such countries are accustomed to the fact that there was always a meager selection of products on store shelves. And after a huge range of imported goods began to enter the outlets, domestic suppliers could not adapt so quickly. Therefore, the consumer began to believe that he knows which bottled water is the best, arguing that only expensive, foreign products can be of high quality.
Where is the bottled water from?
The manufacturer of bottled water, of course, focuses on the technology of its extraction. Even puddle water can be drinkable after cleaning. But such a liquid will be dead. Those who have ever tasted distilled water know what I'm talking about.
Living water is extracted only from underground bowels through wells and artesian wells. Theoretically, such a hole can be drilled in absolutely any place. However, there are certain nuances.
The first of these is the depth of the well. It should be sufficient to prevent melt water from entering the underground horizon.
The second important point is a thorough check by epidemiologists not only of the well itself, but also of the area around it: the surface and earthen layers. The production itself is also subject to control: the level of noise pollution, vibrations in the premises, their sanitary and hygienic condition, ventilation and other conditions.
At the output, the product is checked for compliance with the requirements of SanPiN and GOST. Information about the field of artesian waters in Russia is contained in the state register of groundwater.
Due to serious checks on various parameters, many bottled water producers prefer to work with raw materials from wells, where the water does not require additional treatment, representing the final product, or needs little post-treatment. Some have taken an even easier path and filter plain water from utility networks.
Which water is better: bottled or filtered
When buying drinking water from trusted brands, you can confidently believe that it meets the requirements of GOST and SanPiN and is safe for health. Some manufacturers have begun to produce water with the addition of micro and macro elements necessary for the human body. Thus, this water will also be beneficial. Bottled water does not require additional processing and is immediately ready for use.
If we are talking about filtered water, it should be noted that water completely purified from suspensions is not suitable for regular intake. Together with harmful substances, filters remove particles that the body needs from the liquid.
Useful elements contained in drinking water are K, Mg, Na, Ca. In the liquid from the tap, their amount reaches a sufficient level to ensure the normal functioning of the human body.
If water without these substances is taken for a long time, serious damage will be done to health. This can be confirmed by the words of R. Darrell, an expert in the development and application of purification technologies: “Filtered water cannot save life even in an aquarium with fish. They will just die."
At the same time, filtered water can still benefit the body due to its excellent ability to absorb and remove toxins.
But drinking such water is allowed for a short period. Indeed, along with harmful substances, useful minerals and microelements are also excreted from the body, the lack of which can lead to the development of hypertension, osteochondrosis, and various dysfunctions.
Which water is better: boiled or bottled
Bottled water is purified in industrial volumes and meets safety standards, so it is completely drinkable. It is sold in large bottles that are connected to coolers or a pump.
After boiling, water becomes not only useless for the body, but can also harm. Therefore, it is often called dead. The reason for this is the following features:
- at high temperatures, the liquid is deprived of almost all oxygen;
- useful salts in the process of boiling become an insoluble precipitate;
- when tap water is boiled, the chlorine contained in it turns into a toxic compound that can cause cancer;
- due to the changed structure in the process of boiling, after a day, water becomes a favorable environment for the development of bacteria.
When discussing which bottled water is best to drink, the benefits and harms of boiled water should be adequately analyzed. After all, for those who wonder about the benefits of drinking boiled water, you can find at least one argument - the safety of such a liquid.
Advantages and disadvantages of bottled water
- Benefits of bottled water
When trying to understand which bottled water is the best, you should be sure that any liquid of this type has a number of advantages over the rest.
Firstly, the activities of organizations involved in the sale and delivery of bottled water are under the vigilant control of state supervisory authorities. Taking into account this fact, we can confidently declare its high quality and safety. However, it should be borne in mind that in some states the presence of certain impurities in bottled water is allowed. And before buying such water, especially from foreign manufacturers, you should make sure that there are no additives.
Another undeniable advantage is ease of use. Modern manufacturers complete bottled water with special coolers and ergonomic pumps. At the same time, having made one order, you can purchase a large number of bottles, the delivery of which is handled by the manufacturing companies themselves. Couriers of such organizations not only bring water to the designated place, but also replace the container on the cooler. The buyer from this receives additional benefits and convenience, because he does not have to spend his own time and effort.
Some coolers not only serve as a container for storing and pouring water, but can also heat or cool liquid. These features are especially useful in office environments.
Among other important advantages of bottled water is the invariability of its quality and properties during storage. Even if the cooler has not been used for a long time, the water in it will not deteriorate, retaining its freshness and pleasant taste.
It is also worth noting that bottled water is alive, because it does not lose the beneficial substances that are in its composition. Therefore, the acquisition of such water is not only profitable, but also useful, which cannot be said about drinking water from the tap, even if it is boiled.
- Disadvantages of bottled water
Despite the large number of advantages, like any product, bottled water also has disadvantages. So, some quality standards allow the addition of certain substances to the liquid, which not only change its taste, but are also doubtful in their benefits and necessity for the human body. Therefore, you should be careful about which bottled water is better to buy, and which manufacturers should be abandoned. Before making a choice, you need to read the documentation (especially those written in small print) and make sure that the liquid is clean, safe and does not contain any unnecessary additives.
Another disadvantage relates to water purification and packaging processes that use materials that are not environmentally friendly.
Which bottled water is best for drinking: rating
The quality system of the Russian Federation - Roskachestvo - conducted a study of the group of goods to which bottled water belongs, and compiled a rating. The experts of the organization purchased 60 samples of non-carbonated water from various foreign and domestic producers (Armenia, Georgia, Italy, France, Norway, Finland and Russia). Three types of water samples were taken for analysis - the first and highest category, as well as mineral water.
The result was the following numbers:
- 15.5% (or 9 brands) could be awarded a distinction for quality that exceeds existing requirements;
- 63.8% (or 37 items) can simply be called a quality product;
- 20.7% (or 12 manufacturers) sell goods that cannot be called high-quality for one reason or another.
When compiling the rating, the experts Roskachestvo found in mineral waters from companies Arkhyz, "Elbrus" And Biovita. In samples of this product, an unacceptable number of microorganisms that could adversely affect human health was detected. Experts believe that this problem can be triggered by violations of the conditions of transportation or storage of the product.
In the remaining 9 samples, which occupied the lowest rating, discrepancies between the labeling and the actual composition of water were revealed. The most indicative of these violations were the producers of bottled water of the highest quality, the content of which is subject to higher requirements. Among them were the Italian company norda, manufacturers from Armenia Aparan and domestic "Dixie", "Glavvoda", "Alive key", « BabyIdeal», Courtois, "Demidovskaya Suite». Among them there are representatives of the first category of water - "Uleimskaya".
The leaders in the production of bottled water became the French with mineral water Evian, Russian firm "Aquanica", water brands of the highest category "Volzhanka", "Simple good" And Arctic, and the first category - Bon Aqua, "Lipetsk pump-room», "Novoterskaya" And " ABOUT! Our family". This product Roskachestvo approved for a safe chemical composition rich in macro- and microelements, purity, absence of chlorine and bacteria, normal hardness and an appropriate level of mineralization. From this list, we can conclude which bottled water is better to drink.

Given the great response to previous publications, we decided to continue a series of articles related in one way or another to the subject of the market for drinking bottled water in Russian cities. In this informational review, we will analyze the question of the rating of drinking water in the city of Moscow and the Moscow region, the largest market in Russia, and we will start with such a segment as water packaged in 19 liter bottles. As a rule, companies deliver it directly to apartments, offices, this water can also be purchased at large chain stores such as Auchan, Metro, Globus and the like, often such products can be found at gas stations.
We will not bore our subscribers with a detailed description of all our actions, as some graphomaniac journalists like to do. Just know that it took us about 6 months of painstaking work and several dozen experiments to prepare the material. And so, to the point.
Below we provide official data from several non-profit organizations specializing in drinking water quality control. The figures were obtained by interviewing respondents, according to the results of anonymous questionnaires made by them on the basis of a detailed studied physical and chemical analysis of samples in accordance with GOST. The voting also took into account the fact of the least appeal of consumers and complaints about the quality of a particular product in general.
The following organizations (non-profit*) were accepted in the quality survey:
- "Rospotrebnadzor";
- "NC Russian Control";
– OSBV (branch of the Union of Manufacturers in Moscow);
– Union for the Protection of Consumers of Goods (Moscow);
- Rosminprom (SP RF).
Please note that the survey was conducted anonymously in order to exclude the manipulation of manufacturers to extract commercial interests.
The analysis involved the most popular brands in Moscow and the Moscow region, with the name of the product falling under the classification of “bottled water with a volume of 19 liters” (listing separated by commas, according to alphabetical order):
Water AVK, AquaAreal, Amelia, Aqualider, Abago, Arkhyzik, Aqua Donbay, Arkhyz, Aquaideal, Aquaflot, ABC of water, Aquaru, Alexander's key, Barsky springs, Butylkof, Biovita, Bourgeois, Magic water, Vera, Wave of Baikal, Water Online, Mountain peak, Dear Muscovites, Valley of apple trees, Darzakh, Erinskaya, United, Pearl of the Caucasus, Healthy water, Kara-Su, Kubay, Karachay, Royal water, Legend of the mountains, Bear land, Novoterskaya, Nestle, Our water, Real water, Oxy, Pilgrim, Pavlovsky springs, Senezhskaya, Holy spring, Senezhskaya, Sofia glacier, Santalovskiy spring, Element of life, Holy spring, Staro-Mytishchi spring, Salkovskaya, Semerik, Slavnitsa (var), Make the world kinder, Colored well, Khvalovskaya, Uvinskaya pearl, Filimonovsky spring, Chernogolovskaya, Shishkin forest, Shkolnik, Aeneas, Elbrusinka, Eden 19 liters.
After analyzing the data and comparing all the original figures, we received a rating of bottled water for coolers, where the seats were placed alternately, according to the aggregate quality criteria. The format of our article does not physically allow laying out the list in full, so we decided to name only the top ten best samples.
- Water "Santalovsky source" 19 l.
- Water "Ulanskaya" 19 l.
- Water "Arkhyz" 19 l.
- Water "Holy spring" 19 l.
- Water "Karachay" 19 l.
- Water "Senezhskaya" 19 l.
- Water "Aleksinskaya" 19 l.
- Water "Semiruchye" 19 l.
- Water "Barskiye Klyuchi" 19 l.
- Water "Mountain Elite" 19 l.

The names are different, but the source is the same. What are we paying for?
Also, during our small study, we received very curious side conclusions from inspection organizations. The data obtained indicate that some brands of drinking water are completely identical to each other, that is, in fact, this is the same water under different names. For example, water "Aquaflot" 19 liters, "United", "Azbuka vody", "Pavlovsky springs", "Bourgeois", "AquaAreal", "Eneya", "Slavnitsa", and "AVK", with a probability of 99% , obtained from the same source, as they say, bottled from “one barrel”, or rather, a source located directly in Moscow.
A similar situation was found with other brands from the checked list. So, for example, the water "Mountain Top" 19 liters and the water "Legend of the mountains" 19 liters completely coincide with each other both in composition and other organoleptic properties, being, in fact, one product under different names and the water "Legend of the mountains" differ from " Mountain peak" only with an additional markup of 20%.
Drinking water "Glavvoda 19 liters" is actually bottled in the Moscow region and is drinking water "Semerik" which was named in a new way, and unlike the water itself Semerik, water "Glavvoda" 19 liters costs 15-20% more expensive, it turns out that the overpayment goes just for the label.
We will definitely return to this issue in our next publications and will try to cover the problem of price manipulation by deliberately misleading buyers in as much detail as possible.
But we received the most interesting conclusion on drinking water from the Nestle Pure Life company 19 liters, after renaming it is called Eden 19 liters: all experts unanimously claim that this water was obtained from the central water supply system, followed by conditioning according to the salt composition . This directly indicates the artificial origin of the composition of water.
There is also positive news: with the help of these tests, we managed to destroy and dispel the common myth that supposedly all “Caucasian” water is bottled in the cellars of the Moscow region, and not brought from the Caucasus. Now we have every reason to say with 100% certainty that everyone's favorite water Arkhyz 19 liters is produced in the North Caucasus: its mineral composition, physico-chemical and organoleptic indicators correspond to the declared production region. All the same applies to other tested samples of mountain waters: "Sofia Glacier", "Mountain Top" and water "Pilgrim" in their microchemical compositions completely coincide with the water that can be obtained exclusively in the region of the Teberdinsky Biosphere Reserve.
For clarification of all indicators, figures and ratings, we decided to contact the representatives of the companies included in our rating and among the leaders of the Moscow bottled water market: Vodohleb LLC, Arkhyz LLC, Vodovoz LLC, Top Water LLC . These comments will be the subject of our next articles, studies and investigations. In the near future, we will prepare new materials from which you can learn how not to fall for the marketing tricks of drinking water manufacturers, we will answer questions about what kind of mountain water is really and what kind of water is better to choose for constant use in everyday life, at home and in the office . All the best to you, follow our publications.
At the end of 2014, an individual entrepreneur from the city of Klin approached our studio with the task of developing and registering a brand of bottled drinking water.
Initial data
Consumers: both individuals (delivery of water to the house) and enterprises (delivery of water to the office).
Main competitors: Royal Water, Staro-Mytishchenskaya, Nestle, Arkhyz, Chernogolovskaya.
Of the benefits were noted: the quality and environmental friendliness of the product. As well as a good level of service, in particular, urgent same-day delivery.
Task
The development of a bottled drinking water brand included the following steps:
- 1. Development of a protectable name that will successfully pass a patent test.
- 2. Creation of original graphics for the name, selection of font and color solutions to obtain a combined designation for registration.
- 3. Launch of the procedure for registering a combined designation with Rospatent.
- 4. Service to accompany the application until the moment of registration and obtaining a certificate for a trademark.
Stage 1: development of a verbal designation for drinking bottled water for registration with Rospatent
There are enough players in the bottled water market today. We had to come up with a word that would say a lot about the product: both about its quality, and about its freshness, and about the fact that it is water, that it is crystal clear, perhaps spring. At the same time, the brand of drinking water should be easily perceived and associated with coolness, cleanliness and environmental friendliness.
We were faced with the task of creating a unique Cyrillic word that can pass the patent clearance test.
Solution
After working through many options for the name, the choice of the customer settled on the following option:
The name is a neologism (a invented, previously non-existent word), formed from two words - COOL WATER.
This option most fully corresponded to the naming brief, because it reflected the following:
- 1. Having a derivative of the word "voditsa", the name has excellent associations with water. “Cool” is feminine, which is consistent with the gender of the name of the product itself (water is also feminine).
- 2. Having a derivative of the definition "cool" in its composition, the name carries positive associations associated with quenching thirst and good taste characteristics.
- 3. The presence of the letter "c" in the word evokes associations with the word "well", which gives a vector of new semantic images: clean, well, environmentally friendly, cold.
- 4. The phonetics of the word is concise, bright, sonorous. The presence of the sounds "r", "l", "d", "c" gives the word melody, and adds associations with crystal, spring.
- 5. Thanks to its diminutive form, the name "Prokhladitsa" inspires confidence and is subconsciously associated with something good and real - an ideal solution for such a natural product as water.
- 6. Being a neologism, “Cool” had every chance to successfully pass the patent clearance test.
Checking the verbal designation for patent purity
The patent attorney, having checked the name "Prokhladitsa" in the database of Rospatent of registered trademarks, estimated the probability of registration of the designation at 70%, which is a good indicator. With such chances, you can work further. Moreover, an individually designed graphic image of the sign will further increase the likelihood of registration.
Stage 1 result: On January 14, 2015, the customer approved the verbal designation "Cool" for further work.
Stage 2: development of the original graphic image of the bottled drinking water brand
After the name was approved, we started developing the graphic part of the trademark. The original graphics are designed to help the product to be visually remembered by the consumer and to distinguish the new brand on the shelves from competitors.
Sign formula
For the future trademark “Prokhladitsa”, a graphic element was developed, which is an abstraction in which references to green shoots and water drops are guessed:
We compose the graphic part of the sign with the name and get the final version of the combined designation:
In the foreground, juicy green leaves are a symbol of life and growth, which is associated with environmental friendliness, springiness. After all, springs, as a rule, flow in protected areas, surrounded by green, juicy shoots of plants. The leaves are surrounded by a stylized image of water, which can be perceived both as a tiny droplet and as the global ocean. The use of spherical elements of white and blue colors in the graphics of the drinking water brand gives it airiness, bubbles, and purity. The fact that the image is composed of several elements that harmoniously resonate with each other makes it more vivid and memorable. As we can see, the simple form of the logo contains many associations with the theme of a clean, cool, eco-friendly product - water.
The composition is completed by the font writing of the name “Cool”. The font component matches the image - a blue gradient fill seems to fill the letters with moisture. The font emphasizes the advantages of the graphic part: a clear association with water, bubbles, purity. Below the name of the product itself, there is the inscription “pure water”, which once again, but already quite clearly, focuses on the environmental friendliness and purity of the product.
Step 2 result: On January 27, 2015, the customer approved the combined designation for registration.
Stage 3: filing an application with Rospatent for registration of a trademark for drinking bottled water
The sign is ready. Now you can start registration.
Our patent attorney files an application for trademark registration with Rospatent. This is done with the help of an electronic service. At the same time, a few minutes are spent on filing and registering an application. As a result, On February 08, 2015, an application for registration under the number 2015702923 was submitted and registered.
Further, about 30 days are spent on a formal examination. During this period, the correctness of the execution of the application, the entire package of documents attached to the application, and the payment of the fee are checked. On March 05, 2015, the application completed a formal examination and we received a document - a decision to accept the application for consideration.
Then, the longest time is the implementation of the examination on the merits. It can go on for more than a year. In the course of this procedure, experts check the declared combined designation for identity and similarity with previously registered trademarks in these classes and with the designations filed for registration (DB of applications filed for registration). In addition to the above, experts are required to make sure that there are no legal grounds that could prevent the registration of this trademark.
Stage 4: support of the application until the moment of registration
According to the results of the examination, either a positive decision is made, or, alas, a refusal (this is very rare in our practice). If everything went well, then the moment comes to pay the state duty for registration, after which you need to file an application for registration of a trademark. Within three months, the original trademark registration certificate arrives by Russian post at the postal address indicated in the application.
If we had received a notification from the examination (refusal to register), then as part of the application support service, we would have prepared a response and, after agreeing it with the customer, sent it to Rospatent. In our practice, in 75-80% of cases, if the answer is prepared correctly, the objections of experts are removed and they make a positive decision on registering a trademark.
In the case of "Prokhladitsa", the experts did not have any questions or comments.
As a result, on April 12, 2016, we received a positive decision from the examination.
After paying the state fees and writing an application for registration, the trademark "Prokhladitsa" was registered. With what we are glad to congratulate the customer - an individual entrepreneur Gavrilyuk Pavel Viktorovich.
In Europe, there has long been a rule to drink at least 2 liters of non-carbonated water daily, regardless of the number of first courses eaten and coffee, tea, and other drinks drunk. This norm is sacredly observed by people of any profession and any material wealth. In our country, people are also gradually joining this rule, but not everyone knows what kind of water is better to buy. There are so many of them on the shelves of stores that the eyes run wide. Few people meticulously read the information on the labels, moreover, it is often served in such small print that you need to take a magnifying glass. Therefore, among the abundance of brands, some choose the most famous, others - the one that is cheaper, believing that the water is all the same. This is not entirely true, because there is water of the highest category and the first, and among them there is natural and purified, which is far from the same thing. So what kind of water should be taken in order to benefit from it? Let's figure it out.
Why does the body need water
Even children know that we are all 80% water. Every day 500 ml is lost with sweat and breath, 1500 ml - with urine. Here, in order to restore the losses, you need to pour in yourself 2000 lost ml, only it should be high-quality drinking water. All this is true, but only in part.
Firstly, the figure of 80% is the average, but in fact, depending on age, weight and other indicators of water, each of us has a different amount. Secondly, we lose it also in different ways. More in the heat, less in the cold, more on the move, less on the couch. That is, someone needs to drink 2 liters of it, and for someone, even 3 will not be enough. But why drink it? Is it only to recover losses? It turns out that water can easily dissolve both organics and all kinds of chemical compounds, such as salts. Once in our body, it takes in a lot of harmful substances that are safely excreted in the urine. Thus, there is a natural cleaning of our systems from toxins and other muck. Of course, the best drinking water, that is, chemically purer, copes with this task much more efficiently. And one more important function of water is that chemical reactions take place in it and complex complex compounds are formed, without which we cannot live. That is why the loss of only about 10% of fluid by our body can end very sadly.
Types of drinking water
Now they write a lot about what drinking water of the highest category is. The rating of this product partly helps to find out which brand to buy. It is based on various analyzes and tests that determine the compliance of the chemical composition of water with GOSTs and SanPiNam. But the results of such checks are rarely displayed on the labels. But there is almost always evidence that water was extracted in such and such a region from such and such a depth, and other data that are not understandable to everyone are also reported. To clarify the situation, or perhaps even more confuse it, we note that in nature there are approximately 476 modifications of water, depending on which isotopes of oxygen and hydrogen make up its molecule. Naturally, the properties of these waters are different, and not all of them are equally beneficial to health. Fortunately, not all modifications can last long enough, and information about them is not displayed on the labels at all. What kind of water can be used for drinking? Its most famous types are:
- light;
- heavy;
- soft;
- hard;
- underground (extracted from wells and aquifers);
- mineral;
- plumbing;
- purified.
Categories of drinking water
Apart from the technical, which is not considered in this article, there are two categories of water - the highest and the first. Each country has GOSTs and SanPiNs for bottled drinking water that regulate their taste, color, chemical composition, and transparency. Drinking water of both categories, unless it is therapeutic mineral water, must be clear, odorless, foreign impurities and sediment, otherwise it cannot be consumed at all. Regarding the chemical composition, higher requirements, of course, must be met by drinking water of the highest category. The rating, taken into account by many buyers, shows which brands of water that passed the quality control meet the standards. It is this product that becomes the most popular. Now about 700 types of drinking water are produced. It is clear that it is difficult to check all of them, and unscrupulous manufacturers can write anything on the label. How can an ordinary person distinguish high-quality water from a fake?
First, for the price. If the water is really extracted in an ecologically clean region, and even from a decent depth, then it has high production costs. Therefore, it cannot be cheap. If the water is of poor quality, the manufacturer does not risk setting a high price, since it is very important for him to quickly sell his product and get benefits before a possible test.
Secondly, according to the information on the label. On it, if indeed the water is of the highest category, the place of its production, the address and website of the manufacturer, and the chemical composition must be indicated. In reality, almost all elements from the periodic table can be present in natural drinking water, but most of the chemical elements are in such a small amount that they are not taken into account.
Basically indicate the content of such chemicals and compounds:
- potassium (up to 10 mg/l);
- magnesium (up to 20 mg/l);
- sodium (up to 100 mg/l);
- calcium (up to 20 mg/l);
- nitrates (up to 45 mg/l);
- chlorides (up to 100 mg/l);
- sulfates (up to 30 mg/l);
- bicarbonates (up to 300 mg/l).
Sometimes the labels indicate the pH of the water, which should be in the range of 6.5-7.5. The discrepancy of even one of these indicators does not give the right to assign the highest category to water.
Water is light and heavy
The taste, color, smell and one and the other are the same, but the usefulness is very different. Numerous experiments have proven that the best drinking water, which, among other things, has high healing properties, is light. It contains practically no impurities of deuterium (an isotope of hydrogen) and other heavy elements, therefore, the purification of the body from toxins, and all metabolic processes in it, are better. Light water even in the treatment of cancerous tumors helps. in which deuterium atoms are attached to the oxygen atom, it is harmless to humans if you drink it in small quantities. But there is no benefit from it either. In nature, deuterium molecules are found in any water, no matter how deep it is extracted from wells. It is logical that these molecules contain any drinking water of the highest category. There is no rating on this issue, but choosing bottled water, you can buy products from well-established brands, and at home make this good, but ordinary water light by freezing it in the refrigerator and then thawing it. What will melt, first of all, will be the cleanest drinking water in the world, which is most beneficial to health. And the rest of the ice after such a procedure is desirable to throw away, since it will collect all the harmful impurities.
Water soft and hard
With these characteristics, things are easier. Soft water or hard - depends on the content of magnesium and calcium salts in it. In small quantities, you can drink both, and in large quantities, hard water can lead to the formation of kidney stones, and soft water can lead to pressure problems. In everyday life, you can by eye. So, if there is too much calcium and magnesium salts in it, there will be little foam when soaping the hands, and if there is a shortage, it will seem that the soap is not washed off the hands. But when buying water in a store, no one conducts such experiments. Yes, this is not necessary, because the content of hardness salts in water is strictly defined by GOST and must be indicated on the label. Numbers may vary slightly in different countries.
In Russia, from 01/01/2014, water hardness is measured in degrees and is indicated by "°F" or in milligram equivalents per liter, of which in drinking water should be at least 1.5 and not more than 2.5 units. Sometimes the labels do not indicate hardness, but the amount of calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+), as well as their salts (CaSO4, MgSO4, CaCl2, MgCl2). The amount of each salt is not regulated by GOST, it only indicates how many of them should be in total. If these standards are met, then we may well have drinking water of the highest category suitable for everyday use. The rating, in order to be high, must take into account the content in it of other useful trace elements, especially nitrates. As for the tests for magnesium-calcium, such well-known brands as Aqua Minerale, Dombay did not pass it, and there was a lot of chlorine in the water of the Holy Spring and Shishkin Les brands.
Mineral water
Now mineral water is freely sold in any store, so many people buy it as ordinary drinking water, being sure that mineral water is any where there are trace elements. In fact, mineral water is called water, extracted only from certain aquifers and having a strictly regulated chemical composition. Just this water of the highest category can have a rather unpleasant taste, smell, and sometimes even color and sediment, which depends on the salts with which it is rich. It is important to know that, despite the rich (indicated on the labels) chemical composition, water is not considered mineral if it is a mixture of natural and artificially made.
There will be no high-quality mineral water and water, which is a mixture extracted from various aquifers, but, unfortunately, this cannot be determined by the label. You can navigate here only by the names of brands. So, time-tested and well-reviewed natural drinking water is Borjomi, Narzan, Essentuki, Mukhinskaya, and in Ukraine - Mirgorodskaya, Kuyalnik, Polyana Kvasova. In terms of composition, mineral waters can be sulfate, hydrocarbonate, chloride, mixed, and in terms of the concentration of useful substances, they can be table waters (trace elements in them up to 1 gram per 1 dm 3), medical table waters (trace elements up to 10 grams per dm 3) and medicinal. Every day you can use only the dining room without consulting a doctor.
Tap water and purified
Previously, no one bought bottled water, and even non-carbonated water, everyone drank tap water. There are also GOST and SanPiN standards for its purity, therefore, in principle, it should be suitable for drinking in any quantities. Tap water in most countries is subjected to several stages of purification: mechanical, coagulation, filtration, aeration, sterilization or, in other words, chlorination. Despite such a serious technology, the rating of drinking tap water is one of the lowest, because it almost always contains salts of various chemical elements in large quantities, these elements themselves, such as chlorine, and sometimes pathogens. Therefore, we no longer want to drink such water.
Savvy entrepreneurs figured out how to capitalize on it and still do good. The method is simple and consists in additional cleaning. The cost of the whole process is relatively low, so the price of the product is low, although the label may indicate that the water is crystal clear, mineralized and generally the best.
However, a reasonable buyer should understand that the best bottled water cannot cost 5-10 rubles per liter and a half, even if it says “spring” or “artesian”. For comparison, bottled water, extracted from pure natural sources of the Alps, pulls 70-80 rubles per liter bottle.
But what is purified water? We use two methods: trusted by the people, although little understood, reverse osmosis and mysterious coagulation. Let's see how they work.
Reverse osmosis is the passage of water through several membranes with a microscopic texture, on which all the elements dissolved in water remain one by one. The result is almost perfectly pure, similar to distilled water. For health, it is not useful, because, once in the human body, it begins to replenish the useful substances removed from it, taking them away from our body. To prevent this from happening, manufacturers enrich it again, so the composition of trace elements indicated on the labels of such water may be correct, but the highest category is rarely assigned to it.
Coagulation consists in adding a coagulant (clarifier) to ordinary water, which precipitates some chemicals and trace elements. After that, the water is separated from the sediment and bottled. The process is so cheap and easy that about 70% of all manufacturers use it. So, buying the cheapest drinking water, you can stumble upon a product that is not particularly suitable for health.
Water from the bowels of the earth
Wells of various depths (even more than 50 meters) are available to many Russians in their yards. It would seem, why should they buy bottled natural water, if you can use your own, also natural. However, such water shows the excess of microelements in it not by two, and not even by ten, but by several tens of times. Obviously, you can't drink it. The problem is that the entire thickness of the earth's crust, like a cake of cakes, is made up of geological layers - loam, sandstone, limestone and others. The closer to the surface of the earth and the closer to settlements, especially to industrial centers, the more chemical elements, garbage, waste products of people and animals are in the layers. All this easily falls into shallow water layers, so they can be used for drinking only after thorough cleaning.
The so-called high water, which is formed during floods and river floods, is also unsuitable for drinking. And yet, the bowels of the Earth can give us clean and healthy water, only to get it, you need to drill artesian wells. In different regions, their depth varies from 100 to 1000 meters. The required water must be between the impermeable layers of rocks and be under pressure there, therefore, from a drilled well, it gushes like a fountain. In many ways, artesian water is the best bottled water available in stores, despite the fact that it also contains some salts and trace elements. Manufacturers, as a rule, indicate on the labels from what depth and in what region their product was mined. If it is, for example, the Carpathians, the Urals or the Alps, whose ecological cleanliness no one doubts, we can safely say that such drinking water is of excellent quality. There can be dozens of brand names here. Which one to choose if there are no well-known and popular ones on sale? There is only one advice here - trust the information on the label.
Carbonated water
It is believed that soda quenches thirst better than plain water, that it is tastier and completely harmless. But is it useful? If we take European countries, such as Greece, the founder of the rule on daily and mandatory drinking of water, it is almost impossible to find soda in one and a half liter, and even more so two-liter eggplants. Such water is sold in a maximum of half-liter glass bottles, not counting the classic soda.
We have everything in a row, adding carbon dioxide to it. It really changes the taste, and besides, it helps the salts to stay dissolved and not precipitate. It is for this that they are enriched with carbon dioxide before bottling, because there are a lot of salts in them. Should non-mineral water of the highest category be carbonated? And why do this if there are not so many salts in plain water to be afraid of their precipitation, and the taste should be good even without carbon dioxide? The answer to these controversial questions may be the taste preferences of buyers, many of whom like soda.
Products of famous brands, whose manufacturers value their name, can be purchased safely, but when buying cheap soda, it is useful to think about whether there is something good in it, except for carbon dioxide. But high-quality carbonated water should not be drunk in large quantities, since CO2, which is part of it, activates the secretion of gastric juice, adversely affects enamel, and contributes to increased gas formation in the intestines.
Drinking water rating of famous brands
A single study that would cover all commercially available water, not forgetting the one intended for coolers, has not yet been conducted, so the rating of brands can be considered conditional, since it is based on checks made selectively. According to some data, Bon Aqua water is the best, followed by Holy Spring, Aqua Minerale, Arkhyz. According to others, "Holy Spring" and "Aqua Minerale" did not reach the highest category at all, and the first place was taken by the Nizhny Novgorod water "Dixie". Second and third places went to "foreigners", the French Vittel and Evian. Not only in Russia, but also in Europe, this is water of the highest category. Customer reviews about it are excellent, but absolutely all respondents note a high price.
Domestic "Lipetsk byuvet" is a little cheaper, but it also contains fewer trace elements. "Aqua Minerale" according to the results of the test turned out to be without trace elements at all, that is, almost sterile, although the label does not say this. But the waters Shishkin Les, Prosto Azbuka, Crristaline, Aparan, Holy Spring and even Bon Aqua, bottled in Moscow, were blacklisted due to gross violations of quality standards and deception of customers.
