mora gas stove user manual. Tips for Choosing the Best Mora Gas Stove (2017)
Kitchen stoves Mora. Common features and gas models
The modern market is replete with inexpensive cookers aimed at a not too pretentious consumer. Among these manufacturers, the Czech company Moravia and its products under the Mora brand are far from the last.
The company is not as big and famous as the Italian Indesit or the German AEG, but it has its own rich history. Which is able to shed light on the level of the brand.
Nearly two hundred years of history
Mora Moravia dates back to 1825, when businessman Josef Zverina, a resident of the Moravian town of Marianske Udoli (now the Czech Republic), which was then part of Austria-Hungary, received a patent for the trade in metal products. The region was metallurgical, and things quickly went uphill.
But then a series of ups and downs led to a frequent change of both manufactured products (from nails to cast-iron hatches) and owners (at one time even the Rothschilds were among the shareholders).
At the end of the 19th century, the company took up the production of indoor fireplace stoves, and this direction turned out to be so successful that soon the production of stoves became the main business of the already steadily flourishing enterprise.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Mora Moravia became one of the European leaders in the production of boards. And throughout its history, it has sold over 13 million of them, with more than half of them exported. And the Meteor model turned out to be phenomenally successful, in just ten years more than a million pieces were sold!
In socialist Czechoslovakia, Mora Moravia turned into a large diversified engineering association, which included many enterprises.
In the post-socialist Czech Republic, the association was privatized, and in 2004 it merged into the eminent Slovenian Gorenje Group. At the same time, Mora Moravia formed a holding consisting of several independent companies for the production of cooking, heating and even aerospace equipment.
Let's talk about space some other time, but today we have an acquaintance with the wonderful Mora stoves.
In total, Mora Moravia offers Russian customers over three dozen gas, combined and electric cookers. The choice, as you can see, is rich. Let's choose!
sister traits
Outwardly, these plates do not differ much from each other, their design is very simple and unremarkable, but quite modern and pretty. Oddly enough, they all have the same overall standard - 85x50x60 cm. That is, there are no 50x50, 55x55 and even 60x60 models, which are usually found in the product portfolio of any large company producing stoves.
But they have as many as three color schemes. Of course, the white color, basic for any manufacturers of large kitchen appliances, prevails, giving the letter W at the end of the alphanumeric model designation code. But there are brown (BR) and stainless steel (X) devices.
Each stove, with the exception of glass-ceramic ones, has an enameled metal hob cover (in some cases, made of impact-resistant glass).
55 l oven (3 special models - 52) in case of gas appliances it is necessarily equipped with a gas control that interrupts the gas supply if the flame suddenly goes out for some reason. The ovens are locked with a double glass door and covered from the inside with heat-resistant enamel for easy cleaning.
In general, these ovens are elementary: there are only three levels of stamped guides (only one model has them removable), a wire grate and at least one baking sheet are included in the kit.
All stoves certainly have a drawer for dishes and accessories at the very bottom, the only difference is in its structure - a simple hinged door (for some of the cheapest models) or a pull-out container.
All plates are equipped with adjustable legs.
gas stoves
There are eleven models in this group, and if we discard the color differences and the difference in the material from which the hob lids are made (enamelled steel or safety glass) as irrelevant, there will be seven. Which is also a lot and suggests the presence of a rich choice, which you need to somehow deal with.
All plates have a common technical base, from which modifications are repelled. For Mora, four burners are required on the hob, one of them with a power of 1 kW, another with 2.7 kW, plus two of 1.75 kW. With one exception, all have some form of electric burner ignition. The hob necessarily has a light enamel grate.
And now a tale about the features of each model.
The simplest model in this series is. It has almost nothing beyond the basic set of technical tools and functions described above.
Moreover, there is not even an electric ignition of the burners, which is present in other stoves. Unless a thermometer is added on the oven door, which is rare for Mora appliances.
So, we have completed our acquaintance with Mora gas stoves. However, the model range of this brand is not exhausted. Ahead of us is waiting.
There are many inexpensive cookers on the modern market, aimed at a not too pretentious consumer. Among this equipment, far from the last place belongs to gas stoves manufactured under the Mora brand. For many decades now, they have proudly been the title of very reliable and high-quality units.
Features of Mora gas stoves
Externally, Mora plates are not much different from each other. They have a very simple, but quite nice and modern design. Oddly enough, all these plates are produced with the same dimensions - 50x60x85, that is, there are no models with dimensions of 50x50 or 60x60. But there are as many as three color schemes. The predominant color is white, but there are also brown and stainless steel slabs.
Mora stoves require 4 burners per hob . One of them has a power of 2.7 kW, another one - 1.0 kW, and two more - 1.75 kW each. Ovens are equipped with gas control, doors with double glass and covered with heat-resistant enamel for easy cleaning. Under the oven, there is certainly a drawer for kitchen utensils, which for expensive models can be pulled out, while for cheap ones it has a simple hinged door.
Benefits of Mora slabs
Mora stoves have the same advantages as all gas stoves. This is both a quick ignition and the possibility of using different types dishes, and cheaper operation compared to electric ones.
Additionally, among the advantages of these plates I would like to note:
- high functionality and quality;
- ease of use;
- the presence of a protective gas-control system;
- the ability to adjust the height of the legs;
- affordable cost.
Criterias of choice
When deciding which stove to choose for your kitchen, you need to decide how often you will cook on it and what functions are especially important to you. First of all, you should take into account such selection criteria as dimensions, number of burners, hob material, oven capabilities, and various additional functions.
Dimensions and number of burners
As mentioned above, all Mora gas stoves have the same dimensions and the same number of burners, so you won’t have to think long when choosing these parameters. Two burners have an average level of heat transfer, one has the highest power, and one is the smallest power.
hob
The hob, as a rule, is made of durable and safe materials such as enameled and stainless steel. Slabs with enamel coating are relatively inexpensive. Stainless steel hob significantly increases the cost of equipment, but it is easy to clean and does not undergo chemical attack.
Currently, plates with a tempered glass panel are also produced. This material is particularly durable. In addition, it is easy to clean and is not prone to plaque formation. Tempered glass panels, like enameled ones, have a fairly rich selection of colors.
Oven
A very important parameter when choosing an oven is its capacity. For a large family or for those who like to experiment in the kitchen, there are stoves with ovens of quite impressive volumes. In Mora gas stoves, ovens have two heating modes. The lower heating is carried out using a gas burner, and the upper heating is carried out by a gas or electric grill fixed at the top.
Today, gas stoves are also produced with multifunctional gas ovens.. They use hollow burners, inside which it is impossible to blow out gas, and fast and uniform heating of the cooked dish is ensured by forced circulation of heated air.
The inner surface of the oven can have various properties that can greatly facilitate the cleaning process. For example, expensive models of ovens are equipped with a pyrolytic self-cleaning system, in which food residues and drops of fat are burned out using high temperature(500 degrees). They turn into ordinary ash, which can be easily removed with a damp sponge.
Cheaper stoves have a catalytic cleaning system. The cleaning process occurs at the time of cooking with normal heating up to 200-300 degrees. This method is less efficient than pyrolytic, so the oven will need to be manually cleaned from time to time.
Functions
Modern gas stoves are equipped with many features that improve the process of their operation.
Electric ignition function
This function provides for the safe ignition of gas burners using an electric spark. Electric ignition can be manual and automatic. With manual electric ignition, the burner can be turned on by pressing a special button on the control panel. With automatic, this system is combined with gas supply regulators, so a spark is formed immediately after turning the control knob. If there is no electricity, the ignition does not function.
Gas control system
This system automatically cuts off the gas supply to the burners when the flame goes out. The reliability of its operation is provided by special sensors that respond to the activity of the burner flame. If the burner goes out for some reason, then the safety valve in the gas control system will work and immediately shut off the gas supply.
Timer
Gas stoves use mechanical or electrical timers with an audible signal. With their help, the time intervals required for the preparation of a dish are set. After this time, the timer indicates the need to turn off with an audible signal.

Before buying a gas stove, you need to decide which model you would like to see in your kitchen, and also study its functions and characteristics in detail.

Gas stove with gas oven
CONSUMER ANALYSIS
FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES: The hob has four burners. One of them, the front one on the right, is a quick warm-up element. Such a hearth has a large power - 2.7 kW. Due to the high intensity of heating, dishes are cooked much faster, which, by the way, has a positive effect not only on the speed of cooking, but also on the amount of stored vitamins and microelements. Auxiliary low-power burner occupies the left front position. And the other two burners are of the same average power.
The oven is equipped with a large burner installed in the bottom and a gas grill under the ceiling. For cooking, you can turn on only one operating mode or use them sequentially. The grill is used when you want to fry meat or poultry. In this mode, you can use a spit that works with an electric motor. The spit is installed diagonally, making more rational use of the cabinet volume. The oven door must be open while the grill is in operation, as the oven temperature is not regulated - the grill is always running at full power.
EcoClean enamel, which is used to coat the inner walls of the oven, has interesting properties. Instead of absorbing heat, it reflects it, whereby the heat energy is used more efficiently and the temperature created in the furnace is more uniform.
CONVENIENCE OF USE: The stove is equipped with a so-called one-handed electric ignition. The appearance of the flame occurs when the regulator of the corresponding burner of the hob or oven is turned, no buttons, let alone matches. The burner and oven knobs are turned counterclockwise. For the oven, the heating temperature is set in this way or the grill operation is selected.
The stove is equipped with an electronic timer that shows the current time, but most importantly, you can use it to set the duration of cooking. When the time is up, a beep will sound. The 25 W electric bulb is located on the back wall of the oven. If necessary, it is easy to replace.
The plate comes with three different trays, making it easy to choose for a wide variety of dishes. One of them is covered with easy-to-clean EcoClean enamel and has a depth of 5.5 cm, it is very convenient to cook casseroles, meat, pastries from yeast dough in it.
Under the oven there is a small pull-out drawer for dishes.
CARE: the inner surface of the oven is covered with EcoClean enamel. To clean it, a baking sheet is placed in the oven, half a liter of ordinary water is poured into it. Heating with a minimum temperature is selected, for about 30 minutes, after which the dirt is easily removed with a napkin.
The design of a door as much as possible simplifies cleaning. There are no holes, openings or rubber seals where dirt could accumulate. If necessary, the door can be removed, it can be easily installed back.
HOB: gas, enameled steel, cast iron grates, 4 burners with automatic electric ignition and gas control system.
OVEN: gas, volume - 55 l, maximum temperature - 280C, automatic electric ignition, gas control; operating modes: bottom heating, gas grill, skewer; lighting - (25 W); Compact Door construction, interior surface coating EcoClean enamel.
CONTROL: 4 burner controls, oven control knob, electronic timer, light button.
SECURITY: double glass oven door, gas-control system of the hob and oven.
PECULIARITIES: door Compact Door, EcoClean enamel.
ACCESSORIES: removable tray guides, wire rack, deep tray, glass tray, aluminum tray.
SUMMARY
BENEFITS: The oven bakes evenly over the entire area. The glass cover of the cooking part is removed without any problems, no protruding parts remain. All seals are removable for ease of maintenance. Pleased with the build quality, nothing backlash. Thermostat! From this day on, we cannot imagine our culinary life without this function. The quality of workmanship in general, there is a drawer at the bottom and it is removable, the table grate is made of two halves - it is convenient to wash, for example.
The gas supply pipe to the stove is directed downwards (a nut is welded to it, i.e. a “gas” key is not needed during installation) and parallel to the rear wall, i.e. the plate was pushed close to the wall without any problems. The lid is glass, tinted - it looks more presentable than the metal ones, which are usually completed with such plates. The cover, by the way, is removed by an ordinary lift up, nothing needs to be unscrewed and nothing sticks out on the stove after that (there are no brackets and other things).
The rubber seal under the oven lid is removable, i.e. it is convenient to wash this place. Included - adjustable plastic legs, you never know, so that no one staggers there. Intelligible instructions, g de painted, including adjustment of burners. Deep oven tray included - very pleased.
RESTRICTIONS: electric ignition of burners only; the grate, apparently, they tried to make stylish, and it turned out to be unstable at the edges for small dishes; the thermometer is poorly visible (installed at the bottom + tinted glass). Inconvenient ignition of the oven. Gas regulators work in the opposite direction, it's inconvenient, but you get used to everything, and it's not so scary. Steel gratings (used to cast iron). Expected more from the oven. Compared to the stove "Heat exchanger" (72 release), Mora's oven is an order of magnitude worse. The temperature regime indicated in the instructions most likely does not correspond to the actual temperature. Therefore, for example, yeast dough at mode 4-5 (200 degrees), it rises well, but does not brown for a long time on top. And with the mode 5-7, it rises well, browns, but the pastries turn out to be a bit dry. The oven takes some getting used to. The steel grates above the burners were worn out during use. The grill is there, but the skewers are not. Well, that's subjective.
OVERALL ASSESSMENT: if you need a simple and reliable tile without grills, electric ignitions and other accessories - a very good option. Simple and tasteful.
