Tactical retreat is the fifth principle of stalking. Retreat from the pressing enemy A difficult task is being solved
The First Order somehow miraculously managed to knock out loans for new project. Construction was in full swing. And Hux, if he did not sign the next documents, stood at the windows for a long time, watching the process. All military operations have been temporarily suspended. Almost nothing was heard about the resistance. And from this inaction, Kylo Ren nervously wandered around the base, disappearing briefly in the training room, and continued to smash droids and expensive equipment. Although there seemed to be no reason for this: neither bad nor good news. But their visits to Snoke have become more frequent. - Master Ren cut off the power to the entire E-bay, delaying the delivery necessary equipment, - Hux tilted his head up and did not look at Kylo, who was frozen next to him, - we cannot afford to delay the construction even for a day. - What do you suggest, general? At times, it seemed to Hux that Snoke was already quite tired, not happy with his student and would prefer someone more calm and collected. For example, that girl, the scavenger, who was sensitive to the Force. But he did not allow this thought to develop in his brain and prudently kept his mouth shut. - Forbid the master to be in some especially important parts of the ship. - I go where I want, - the mask distorted the voice, making it even lower and muffled. “And I refuse to pay for the damage, for anger feeds my Power,” the general mimicked him. And he could not resist, casting a vicious glance at the cause of the recent breakdown. Even after the rescue, respect for him did not increase. Snoke listened to such complaints more than once, although Hux tried to keep them to a minimum. He convinced himself that he could handle this irresponsible and impulsive Sith. Reality and Snoke's heavy gaze told otherwise. - General, - the Leader leaned lower, his image rippled, - I know about your hobby . He was significantly silent. Hux tensed up all over and felt Kylo's eyes studying him. “I don’t think that Master Ren will appreciate my skill,” it turned out to be difficult to pull myself together. There were many legends about Hux's skills. In narrow circles, of course. Phasma knew about them and the lieutenants loved to whisper. - And yet, I am ready to entrust my student in your hands. Hux caught his breath. He did not dare to hope for such a thing. After Starkiller. After he pulled Kylo on himself and saw him, pale and injured, almost without clothes. For all his dislike of Snoke's apprentice, Ren had something that made the general's fingers twitch in anticipation. - I'll take it as an honor, Supreme Leader. Hux nodded, and when the image disappeared, turned around: - Follow me. * The cabin was not far from his own. Small but spacious room. With a narrow daybed in the middle, a couple of chairs in the corner, a table against the wall, a few panels closed, and a door leading to a shower room. Almost empty and perfectly clean room. With a single window from floor to ceiling. Hux blocked the door and waited for Kylo to remove his helmet. The scar suited him unusually. Hux's fingertips tingled at the thought of being able to touch them all. Now. To every mark left by Ren after Starkiller's explosion. And to those that appeared much earlier, and which Kylo himself will never tell. Hux only saw part of it while Ren was stitched up. His mouth went dry as the medical droids covered the marks with bandages that he wanted to run a finger over. Press harder to bleed, feel the seam, or run your tongue over those that turned white on your already fair skin. Hux has always liked other people's scars. The reason for his distorted aesthetic pleasure. His passion. Perhaps that is why he chose this hobby. To see them. Silent witnesses of dangerous or stupid stories. And they let him. He will be a fool if he does not enjoy the moment to the fullest. - Take off your clothes, master. Hux set the oblong vial down on the table with a thud, took off his gloves, and, rolling up his sleeves, made his way to the bathroom. Kylo's gaze burned his back. But the rustle of clothes made me smile. Hux washed his hands with particular care, pulled out two towels and a sheet. The clothes were left on the chair, pressed down by the helmet. Kylo stood straight, not embarrassed by his nakedness. And he looked more with a challenge than with curiosity. Hux appreciated the front of the work and chuckled contentedly. Kylo was taller and broader in the shoulders, lean and lithe, but that didn't matter now. Hux spread a sheet on the couch, folded a folded towel over it and patted it invitingly: “Lie down on your stomach, Ren. Kylo quickly crossed the room, resting his cheek on the towel and wincing. Hux covered his buttocks with a second towel. The heating system had just turned on: the room was still fresh. Fingers lay on the neck, removing interfering strands. Ren shuddered, but did not close his eyes, watching intently as the general took the vial from the table and snapped the lid. Hux hesitated and deliberately stood on the side where he was not visible. A faint, pungent smell filled the room. The oil warmed in his palms as he gazed with enjoyment at the pale back with a scattering of moles and a lightsaber scar on his right shoulder. He could not resist and ran his fingertips over it, barely touching the skin. The second palm lay on the lower back and began to slowly move higher, distributing the oil. Kylo tensed. Hux just stroked. He moved his hands along and across the hardened back, circled between the reduced shoulder blades. - Try to relax. Ren finally closed his eyes and exhaled. It was one of Hux's favorite moments. The one when the person lost control. He began his journey to a limp body that would melt under the palms of others. Exciting moment of the first triumph. Each time, returning to the waist, Hux brought his hands together and parted, touching his sides. He tried not to keep his hand on the scars from the crossbow, barely touching the uneven edges, stopping breathing for a second. The pressure intensified. From circular rubbing movements, the skin turned red. Hux felt his muscles relax slowly and reluctantly. He carefully stroked his shoulders, releasing tension, letting his fingers slide over the scar, rubbing the oil into it. With one hand, he grabbed the skin so that the muscles rolled under his fingers, walked along the entire back: from the edge of the towel to the very neck. He slid his thumbs under his shoulder blade, pressing harder and eliciting a long moan from Kylo. - Painfully? He did the same with the second one, this time the moan was drowned out by the towel. "No," Kylo muttered, and Hux turned his head back with the back of his hand, trying not to mess up his hair. "Don't move," he spoke softly and didn't break the tactile contact for a second. Ren's skin was shiny with oil, warm and soft to the touch. All the tension came out of the body drop by drop, making the muscles supple, relaxing every muscle. At such moments, Hux felt boundless power and trust. Which no amount of credits, inspirational speeches, or fear would achieve. He did not own the Force, but his movements clouded the mind better than any hypnosis. Drunk like Coruscant wine. Hands slid under the towel, unfolded it and covered her back, keeping her precious warmth. The palms rested on the buttocks. Ren twitched and tried to get up, but his frazzled body let him down, Hux pressed harder, easily forcing him to lie back down. The pads of the thumbs massaged the lower back, going down to the sides. The edge of the palm passed along the crease under the buttocks. Circular movements with the base of the palms dispersed the blood. Hux kneaded the elastic halves and lovingly stroked the scar under his right buttock. Slim and long. Barely noticeable. The mystery of its origin spurred the imagination and excited thoughts. The general greedily examined the long, slender legs, noticing each whitening mark, and imagined how he would study each of them with his tongue. He circled his tailbone in a circular motion, and Kylo's soft sob prickled sweetly at the bottom of his stomach. Hux stroked his buttocks for the last time, unable to resist a light slap, and returned the towel to them. - Now turn over. "No," Kylo croaked, his voice unresponsive. - This is not a request, - a hand fell on the right shoulder, stroking, - this is an order, master. Hux spoke softly and calmly. And just waited for Ren to deign to roll over. Kylo only fiddled around for a couple of seconds. The towel lifted over her hips, but Hux pretended not to notice. Ren's half-excited member worried him less than the burn under his left collarbone and the continuation of the scar on his side. Hux touched them, his lips burning with the desire to touch, to trace the outline with the tip of his tongue, to taste the uneven skin. But he didn't dare. Hux just squeezed a new portion of oil into his palm and licked his parched lips with an almost imperceptible movement of his tongue. He took Ren's wrist in his left hand, and with his right began to gently stretch someone else's forearm. He changed hands and stretched his shoulder muscles. A pulse beat under his fingers. Exactly and often. He looked at someone else's palm, as if he could read fate from it. An ornate web of scars stretched from index finger. Wrapped her arm up to the elbow. And Hux forgot. He lost himself in the pattern of tight skin and kissed his wrist, where the network of scars thickened. “It was the first time I tried the assembled sword,” Kylo looked at him with a defocused look, “the cyber crystal cracked and I couldn’t turn it off in time. Hux ran his nose across his palm before carefully lowering his hand. His insides twisted at Ren's sudden candor. From his deep low voice and hoarse breathing. It's the turn of the second hand. Hux did the same thing to her, except for the kiss, of course. Kylo barely blinked. The general, who considered himself master of the situation, for some reason did not dare to meet his gaze. There was nothing left of his pedantic calmness. It was hard to breathe, as if the air itself had thickened. The towel twitched a little, threatening to slide off her hips, but Hux straightened it carefully. - This is fine. Kylo didn't react to his words. Hux flexed his long, callused fingers. Otherwise, I would consider myself deeply offended. Ren grinned, but there was no usual mockery in his voice: - And what, many people know about your talent? “Captain Phasma swore eternal allegiance to the First Order and was willing to pay a year's salary. Their eyes met, and Hux placed the other's hand on the couch. An unhealthy blush covered his neck, a pillow print was visible on his cheek, wet ringlets of hair stuck to his forehead, pupils dilated, his chest slowly rose and fell, and his wet lips turned red as if he had bitten them. The general lifted the towel from his hips, slowly and carefully dried his hands, for the last time stroking his naked body with a hungry look. - The shower is at your disposal, master. He threw the towel so that it covered only Ren's face and hurried to the exit. - I advise you to immediately go to bed after it. Hux slipped out the door and tried to get away as quickly as possible. Pain throbbed in my temples. He was sure that Kylo would not kill him upon meeting. Not even revenge for the unfortunate towel. He was running not from Ren, but from those desires that were born in the brain. Hux found his body amazing. He found Kylo Ren beautiful, and it was as exciting a discovery as it was dangerous. Hux admired the jagged edges of scars. Before their chaotic and whimsical pattern. I got real pleasure, feeling every millimeter. Kylo Ren was the same. Rough, uneven. Unique. The living embodiment of the general's passion. And it was just as nice to touch him. Hux didn't consider it an escape. More like a tactical retreat. That was what he repeated to himself before going to sleep that night, squeezing his cock at the base and trying not to come immediately at the mere memory of the uneven pulse under his lips.
tactical retreat
Because of the smoke behind the wall, nothing could be seen through the loopholes. Lex yanked the last charged fireball amulet out of his bag and quickly tossed it out of the slot. Behind the wall there was a dull bang and screams. The retaliatory strike only struck the wall and ricocheted off the defense, went up like a candle. “Well, probably sent a couple more for rebirth, now it’s time to retreat to pre-prepared positions,” he thought, and quickly jumping off the wall, ran to the doors of the temple, carved right into the sheer rock.
From the side of the courtyard, the height of the wall is quite small, but on the other side, the wall used to be at least twenty meters, until it was covered with fragments of nearby rocks from the impact of various explosive artifacts. Half a hundred steps across the sand of the yard did not take long. Eh, how could someone from the Order of Artifacters have thought, at least half a millennium ago, that the oldest temple of the order would be defended by one warrior, and even one from an undereducated student, with a minimum of opportunities. Of course, the artefact masters had to somehow immediately negotiate with the rest of the magicians and not bring the order to its current state. Although these main ones, from the attacking magicians, are such creatures with whom it is useless to negotiate. True, they can also be understood, who will constantly endure a sword over their heads when there is an opportunity to get rid of it. A good warrior with a high-quality artifact can kill the archmage freely, so no magic can restore it. Therefore, for four hundred years now, all magical unions, orders and clans have been chasing the remnants of the Artifact Order across the known world. I must say they succeed, albeit with great difficulty.
Of course, the artifacts themselves are a very useful thing and any magician will use them with pleasure and will use them, but the fact that you need to get rid of those artifacts that pose a serious danger to magicians is an indisputable truth for these very magicians. Artefactors did not want to understand this idea and continued to make very dangerous things. It was for them that buyers gave the best price. That is why, the last real master, the master of the order, is now behind Lex, in the depths of the temple, at the source, setting up the transition portal, and he, the oldest student, only 30 years old, is trying to give him time to save a family of two dozens of junior disciples, from seven to twenty years old, recruited while constantly moving along the roads of this world.
For four hundred years, the teacher has been running from the mages of the seeker order, created specifically to fight disgraced mages, mainly artefacts. So I wanted to convey at least something to the students, and, accordingly, lit up, and as a result, they overlaid it. Only magicians do not know that they have been preparing this combination with the teacher for ten years. Even the last Artifact Temple was donated. And who needs it now. Apart from a small source, there is nothing of value here. It has only been used for training before. If they succeed, the teacher will be able to calmly prepare good students and not hide from magicians for some time.
Lex did not regret at all that he was apprenticed to the master. He is a good man and a great magician. Although his magical potential is quite small, like all artefacts, but what he gave Lex in twenty years cannot be obtained anywhere else in the world. There is no such knowledge now. They don't teach that in magic academies. Mages don't need runes of this complexity. They need everything faster, simpler and more powerful. Who wants to draw a rune for a couple of days to put up a shield? By then, you'll have been buried a hundred times. So what, that it protects from any influences, it is enough to use simple elemental shields in battle. It is not necessary to think at the same time and are set in moments. If they don’t hit you with artifacts, such as penetrating arrows, then everything is fine, but in order not to shoot with such arrows, you need to exterminate all artifactors, to the root.
The magicians themselves do not understand that they are hindering development, or even rolling back altogether. The current magicians are not like the past, as the master says. If he had leaned out earlier, he would have been taken out a long time ago, and he still runs around.
A very long time ago, the diploma of a graduate of the magic academy fell into the hands of the master. More precisely, he himself received it in order to somehow legalize his activities in the expanses of empires. After much deliberation, he decided, at least at the end of his life, to make magicians a big muck, and a good push for magical science. Of course, if his life still does not end during some skirmish. To do this, you need to create your own school, and not just anywhere, but in the capital of one of the empires, but before that, he must die here in the temple as a master - an artifact, and preferably with great noise. It was in his place that Lex was now, that is, he was dying with a noise. As it seemed to Lex, with a very big noise, one might say with a roar. Such a number of corpses of the guardsmen of the empire and the mages of the order of the seekers, probably over the past hundred years, was not, and how many more there will be.
Lex didn't particularly hate mages. He did not catch those times when the magicians-artifactors were exterminated by entire clans, but he didn’t want to fall into their hands either. The teacher only needs a short time to set up the transition to the stationary portal of the capital of the empire, and then it remains to cover up the traces of the real place of transfer. That's when the old magician will arrive in the empire with his students to create his own school. Strong magicians do this at the end of their lives and he will not stand out among them. Students suit him even with little potential, if only they see the magical flows and therefore he will not compete with other schools and no one will dig especially hard for him. The school will recruit only suitable students for themselves and teach according to their own methods.
For a normal artifactor to pass the exams for the diploma of a simple imperial magician of the lowest level after the teacher's school - just spit. The main thing, at the exam, is not to show the possibilities completely, so that it doesn’t turn out that the physical abilities are almost invisible, and the student casts spells at the level of the archmage. Of course, there are other dangers, but it is still some time of a quiet life, and most importantly, the transfer of a huge amount of knowledge accumulated by his order throughout its existence. This should give impetus to the development magical science no matter what hands this knowledge falls into.
Knowledge is really a lot, a lot. No wonder the rest of the magicians were afraid of the order. In the Artifact Order, knowledge did not disappear with the death of the bearer. Each mage of the order keeps a diary - an artifact - a drive in which he records all the created runes and spells, books found and other knowledge. After the death of the magician, the diary, which itself is a very complex artifact, is activated and transfers all the information to the nearest similar diary, usually the diary of an older student or the one for whom this diary was set up by the artifactor himself. If such diaries of the student do not exist, then knowledge is transferred to the diary of the nearest master of the order. So in the order is the accumulation of knowledge.
For a long time there has been only one master in the world - his teacher. That's why Artifact Magicians only got stronger with time. Tens of thousands of such diaries have accumulated in the teacher's diary and now he will have time to deal with this knowledge and teach his students already. The teacher has long copied all the data in Lex's diary, this will be enough for him for a hundred years of study, unless, of course, he has these hundred years. The knowledge in the diaries is actually unique. It so happened that representatives of all races of this world got to the artifactors. Of course, these magicians were rather weak and, moreover, limited by oaths of secrecy and could not transfer the secret knowledge and spells of clans, families or orders to anyone else, but they did not transfer.
It turned out that these oaths can be circumvented. It was the diary that made it possible to circumvent the magician's oath, although only after his death, because it was not the magician who transmitted information to the order, but only his diary, and no one else knew about this feature of the diary, except for the artifactors themselves. Since the teacher is the only and last representative of the Master Masters of the Artifact Order, all this knowledge was included in his diary. Now just a little free time to deal with them. But time, time is expensive and the price is Lex. Everyone can leave, but Lex can't. Someone must hold off the chase and knock down the portal settings, otherwise the fugitives will not go far. Portal mages can trace the paths of portals.
For three hours now, Lex, throwing the most powerful disposable amulets and artifacts, tried to hold back the pressing mages seeking and the guards of the local empire. About thirty people, at least, have already laid, but the amulets have run out. Without them, he cannot hold the wall of the temple alone, although the length of the wall that blocked the crevice in front of the temple is not great, only about half a hundred steps, but now there are so many stones behind it that you can almost get close, and an arrow is an arrow, and also it can get it, well, the magicians can apply something nearby as well as they can.
That's why Lex took a seat outside the temple door and through a small gap watched the area between the wall and the entrance to the temple. A good place for battle, clean, open, the archer will do a lot of trouble here. He rummaged through his shadow bag, took out his bow and quiver of arrows, and prepared himself. Thanks to the master, I gave my own shadow bag, otherwise I would like to carry my little things, but there is no weight and everything is at hand.
It’s just that a true master artifact artist needs a year or more to make such an artifact, and the price of such a bag is huge, you can buy a small barony with a couple of cities. No matter how much you put there, you still won’t feel the weight and you can take it at any time, just imagine what you need. In fact, such a bag is a special portal, only a permanent one and it is tied to some source, but no one knows which one. Artifactors can make such portals, but no one knows who created such runes and why they work, there are no those first artifactors. It was a long time ago, even before the creation and use of diaries. The master, of course, can figure it out, over time, there is a diary with some initial runes, but they just don’t give him time, they drive him from place to place. He now at least something to pass on to the students, only without Lex. Now Lex has to pay his bills and for his studies and in general for the life that the master saved anyway by repulsing the boy from the bandits who attacked the convoy, where he was traveling with his parents.
The opponents did not give a long rest. Accumulating under the cover of the wall, jerking through the battlements of the loopholes, they rushed in a crowd to the temple. Lex chuckled, “Well, what kind of idiots are you, running under the cover of elemental shields against the artifactor. Rave. Obviously the magicians were crushed. The string of the bow sang in his hands. A good archer holds five arrows in the air, and he is a good archer. Not an elf, but by human standards, quite a decent shooter. From the side, it seemed that a wave of people collided with a fan of arrows and instantly scattered with splashes of bodies. The elemental shields didn't stop the arrows from hitting fleeing enemies. Each arrow was also a powerful artifact. It was because of such things that magicians took up arms against artifactors. She calmly penetrated the shields of any elements, simply pushing the runes of spells and hitting the body of the enemy, and no amount of regeneration could prevent death. The arrow shattered into small blades that, rotating, cut the body into pieces. The wave of attackers died down, simply ceasing to exist, there are no wounded from shadow arrows. Lex saw five men approaching from the wall, the standard defensive five. Air flows around them, as from a heated stone.
(Lex: - It seems the archmages have granted, and even put on a protective dome. Well, even with artifact arrows you can’t immediately take such a dome, with a simple artifact - an amulet, all the more so, and there are no simple artifacts anymore. Everyone flew over the wall.)
Lex closed the temple doors and pulled back the massive bolt. He ran his hand over the rune engraving on the bolt. In my magical vision, I could see the rune of passive protection lit up. Now let them suffer to break the doors. Moving a little further along the corridor, Lex stuffed the bow and the remaining arrows into the bag, took out the sword and activated the rune of freedom on it, leaving it hanging in the middle of the passage. This is his last line of defense - the ice sword artifact. This is something at the level of legends. To create it, he needs to study for another five years, but the master did not regret using it. Magicians used such artifacts only as a last resort, with a real danger of death. This is a melee artifact, but the master improved it a bit by combining it with the artifact of a ghostly warrior and now it is an independent complex. It's a pity that the zone of action is no more than 10 meters from the place of activation, and the time of active action is limited by the magic accumulator. Although, of course, magicians cannot pass it. That's why he's an ice sword. It is charged from any magical source, including from a living one, that is, from the magician himself. So it is not recommended for magicians to fight him, it is useless, a mortal loss is guaranteed. So there will be a surprise for the archmages, who have already begun to destroy the doors of the temple.
The teacher's voice sounded in my head: “That's it. Lex go. We made it. I close the portal. Good luck to you. I always knew that luck walks with you along the same paths. Perhaps you would have turned out to be a real seer, and not an artifact, and therefore you have a chance.
Lex replied: - And good luck to you, master, I hope we will meet again, although, perhaps, not soon.
The feeling of connection is gone, so the teacher is gone, so now it's time for him. It remains to check his latest development with the teacher. In theory, of course, it looks correct, but in practice he will have to check it. She still gave a ghostly chance to survive. Lex walked down the winding corridor to the source room. The source was a small slab, around which, if viewed with a magical eye, the sphere of the source glowed. Only looking at it with a magical look is not recommended, this is the source. Once you look, then you will walk magically blind for a couple of days. The source is used by magicians to accumulate magical energy. Just sit in it or next to it and the reserve is full. Well, artifactors use them to quickly charge artifacts. You can, of course, charge yourself, well, such a thing takes a very long time. The channels of the magicians of the order are very weak, the peculiarities of the work affect. Artifactor should own the widest possible range of channels to control the elements. Otherwise, it is impossible to create real artifacts. reverse side using multiple channels is their weakness. That is why it is impossible for an ordinary magician to become an artifactor, they own a maximum of one or two elements, and an artifactor needs at least seven, otherwise you can only make one-elemental amulets.
Next to the source, on a special stand in the form of an archway, there was an amulet of the portal, through which the master left. Also a unique development of artifactors, a portable portal, the size of a small medallion, there are no others like it in this world. Lex removed the amulet from its stand and hung it on a magical shield, forming it over the source. Then he put a shadow bag on the source and stretched its neck as much as possible, and then tied both the bag and the amulet to himself with magic cords. Although he has very few magical powers, but there is a source nearby, draw as much as you want, and it takes very little time to keep the flow. The portal transition is a fast thing. His internal channels must endure. Now the time has come for testing, what they conceived with the teacher is generally from the realm of assumptions.
If to speak in simple words, then this is an attempt to leave through a free portal, that is, where it will take you out, but using the settings of another portal. In general, Lex will leave through the standard amulet portal, but the shadow bag will give the transition settings, and then he will drag both the portal and the bag along with him. Therefore, the magicians will not be able to track either the master or Lex himself.
Lex stood near the source and prepared himself. He is not a hero at all and of course he was afraid, but the magicians will not leave him alive for any reason, and at least there is a chance, even if theoretical. As the temple door crashed in the distance, Lex stepped into the mouth of the bag.
In the hall of the source, first, like in a well, a man disappeared, falling into a bag, then the amulet of the portal dived into it, then the bag itself disappeared, as if curling up, and the glow of the magical source immediately disappeared. Since the temple was built mainly taking into account the source, after its disappearance, the columns of the temple formed and the entire vault collapsed down onto the slab of the former source.
Reporting seekers to the leader:
The temple is destroyed. Outgoing portals are not seen. Losses among the guards up to two hundred people at the initial stage of the assault on the walls. The magicians lost eight dozen. Archmages, unfortunately, all died, including the leader. At the last stage of the assault, after the destruction of the doors, they encountered artifacts of unknown power (cannot be classified). According to a preliminary analysis, an unknown number of artifacts (many) were simultaneously involved by the enemy. As a result, the source ceased to exist, and the archmages were attacked by an unknown artifact with a classification - a thinking golem (inexplicable), like a ghostly warrior (inexplicable), armed with an ice sword (inexplicable). The presence of such a classification is considered impossible, the ice sword destroys all magic that does not belong to it. There is an assumption that due to hopelessness, with the help of the source, a rite of disincarnation of the magician was performed, and the infusion of his spirit into artifacts, but this does not explain the destruction of the source itself. Due to the impossibility of approaching the activated artifact (proved by the death of the last archmage), the remaining magicians of the detachment destroyed the stone mass above the passage to the temple from a long distance (due to the disappearance of the source (inexplicably), the passive protection of the temple collapsed). The artifact is buried in the array and access to it is impossible.
Leader's response to seekers:
Consider the task completed. Prohibit construction on the site of the temple for the next hundred years (guaranteed depletion time of the artifact). Prohibit visiting the location of the temple. Set up a permanent outpost to the floor of a hundred warriors with a magician on duty or even two. Supply them with a magical herald. Change composition every three months.

The principles and tactics of retreat (withdrawal), options for performing a retreat to the flank, as well as ways to cover the enemy flank are described.
A fleeing soldier who has shown his back is the best target. Therefore, the retreat (withdrawal), as well as the offensive, should be carried out according to the principle "one covers - the other runs."
Withdrawal in extended formations
Withdrawal in deployed formations should occur in the reverse order of the attack, but with the same principle of moving in rolls "one covers - the other runs." The order of movement: either crawling away in a plastuna or on half-fours without turning to face back, or dashes with a preliminary turn on the ground to face back. After finishing the run, to cover another group, you should turn around to face the enemy on the ground, and not standing.
First, one subgroup retreats (in the figure on the right), the other covers it with fire.
The subgroups then switch roles.
Running back to the enemy, shooting backwards, should only be done if the soldier was alone. It is very inconvenient for a single soldier to retreat with his back in the direction of movement - he does not see where he is going.
Departure along the trail
When retreating along the path, the following procedure is possible: along the path, soldiers take up positions “one on the left, one on the right” at a distance from each other. When the enemy approaches, the first soldier opens an automatic one: fire and shoots the entire store, then he stops firing and immediately begins to run back along the path towards his own.
Running past the soldier following him, he slaps him on the shoulder or hits him on the soles of his boots. This is a signal to open fire. Previously, you can’t open fire, as there is a risk of hitting your own. The soldier runs to the back of his unit and takes up a position across from the last soldier. He reloads his weapon, prepares the position and waits until it is his turn to fire again. When a soldier who has just shot back runs past the last soldier, he needs to indicate the direction in which the retreat is being carried out so as not to stray from the chosen direction of retreat.
When a wounded man appears, he is dragged away by soldiers on the same side as the wounded, under cover of fire from soldiers on the other side of the path. The appearance of a wounded person may mean that the group will need to stop for a while and even turn into a line to cover the withdrawal.
Withdrawal to the flank of a unit stretched into a chain using the "Checkers" method
Withdrawal to the flank of a unit stretched in a chain, if the enemy fires on the front, is carried out in the following order, called "Checkers". The first to start moving is the second in a row soldier from the flank towards which the retreat is being carried out. He runs (crawls) behind the first in an arc and takes a new position in the chain. The rest of the group, during his dash, fires at the enemy. The position left by the defecting soldier forms a kind of chain break. The fourth soldier in the chain runs over to his old position, and so on until the last soldier runs over, who was at the beginning in an even position. After the last "even" soldier completes the run, the odd numbers begin to run over - first the first, then the third, the fifth, and so on.
As can be seen from the above description, to retreat to the flank, twos “first - second”, “third - fourth” (even - odd position) are formed, which move in rolls. A flank retreat is unusual, as the enemy usually expects a retreat. In the same order, you can bypass the flank of the enemy.
Flank options
Moving the troika using the "Stocking" method
The withdrawal of the group begins with a distant soldier, relative to the withdrawal side - number 1. After number 1 has secured and opened fire, number 2 starts moving. Then, after number 2 is in position, number 3 moves, and so on. This method is a variant of moving forward according to the "Two - One" scheme, when two cover, and one moves, but has some features. The rusher, when the last soldier has been passed, must give a voice signal that he is ending his movement and will soon take up position. For example, number 1 ran behind number 2, and running behind number 3 shouts: “Passed!”. This signals number 2 to fire a few shots, during which number 1 completes his move, takes up cover and opens fire, and number two begins to move. |
Withdrawal in fours using the “Double Stocking” or “Short Stocking” method
Using such tactical movements, it is possible to change the direction of the group's movement, moving both in a straight line and leaving in any direction, in an arc back or forward, bypassing the enemy to the flank.
This is achieved by positioning the defecting soldier, as he can position himself in front of or behind the group, which gradually leads the group to move in the desired direction.
The proposed tactical options can be used for groups of different sizes depending on the situation. For example, using the “Stocking” method, not only the “troika” can move when powerful fire cover is needed, but in this case the speed will suffer. In turn, the "troika" can move in the "Double Stocking" option to increase the speed of movement, but the cover will suffer.
In any case, these techniques require serious development, including with live firing, of course, in compliance with security measures and in accordance with the principle “from simple to complex”.
The withdrawal may be accompanied by a retreating artillery barrage following the retreating units at a safe distance. When retreating, smokes must be used carefully, as they are good reference points for enemy artillery, which are very helpful in aiming at retreating ones.
In order not to lose each other during a night retreat, the retreating group should be the first to mark the retreat route with stakes, ropes, loose materials (chalk, talc), and the retreating last to destroy these signs, if possible.
Very often, to break away from the enemy, a distracting subgroup is used, which, while firing, takes the enemy to the side, often leading the pursuers into an ambush.
At night, stun grenades can be used to cover the retreat, which blind the enemy, forcing his vision to re-adapt to the dark.
"When confronted with the unexpected and the incomprehensible and not knowing what to do with it, the warrior retreats for a while, letting his thoughts wander aimlessly. The warrior is doing something else. Anything is good here. This is the fifth principle of the art of stalking."
Carlos Castaneda "The Wheel of Time"
The essence of the principle: If you don’t understand something or something doesn’t go the way you intended, you shouldn’t immediately solve the problem head-on, it’s wise to step back and think.
What is incomprehensible? Obviously, everything that we do not understand or understand, but not very much. This includes any complex tasks, questions and situations from our lives. Also, new knowledge that you are mastering at the moment can get here.
What about the unexpected? First of all, these are any difficulties, failures, inconsistencies. For example: you call a person, but he does not answer, or his phone is turned off at all, you are looking for the right book in a bookstore, but you cannot find it, you decide to have a bite to eat in your favorite cafe, and there is a huge line, etc.
If something suddenly doesn’t work out for you, and you expected it to work out, then this is unexpected.
My natural reaction, before I began to use this principle, was to solve the problem head-on, break through, break through. Spend more time, effort, and, in the end, get the information, resources, etc. I need. And then after receiving them, I realized that I simply did not need it. The situation itself and the inconsistencies, as it were, warned: "Boy, you don't need this."
What does it look like in real life? One of the stories.
This was about half a year ago. I go to a CD store, I see a DVD with a movie I've wanted to watch for a long time. The film is the series "Lost", we showed it on the first channel. But the first channel showed only the first 13 episodes, and then stopped showing it (after that, the rest of the episodes were shown, but this already happened much later than the story being described).
This film appeared at hawkers. As advertised on the cover of the DVD, there were 25 episodes. Naturally, I wanted to buy and watch the sequel.
Now the development of events: I go to the store and take the disc. I carefully look at it, I find as many as two DVDs in one box, you need to understand that the capacity of one DVD is 4.7 gigabytes, respectively, the capacity of 2: 4.7 x 2, in general, all the arguments for the fact that there really can be the whole movie fully. I take the disc and head to the checkout.
And here there is something that in everyday life is called a bummer. The girl at the checkout simply has no change from my 500-ruble note. I have a choice: to spit on this disk and go on my own way, or wait until someone buys something, the cashier will have money, and she can give me change.
I decide to wait. After 15 minutes, I find another solution, along with the film, I also buy myself a blank disc for recording, everything is OK, the girl at the checkout can give me change, the purchase and sale process is completed. And I go home with the disc.
Now the question is: what do I find at home on this drive? :).
That's right, nothing new for myself. All the same 13 episodes that I've already watched. Somehow miraculously divided into 25, i.e. there are no complaints about the store, it's really 25 episodes. But it doesn't make me happy :).
The inconsistency at the checkout was the very unexpected one that I safely missed.
And there were plenty of such stories in my life, when I, making significant efforts to overcome various difficulties, ended up getting something that I simply did not need.
Naturally, all this does not mean giving up any efforts to overcome difficulties, it only means that it is worth taking a break, moving away from the situation, waiting and thinking in order to find the best, and not the first solution that comes to hand.
There are three main reasons for the difficulty. Depending on which of them you are faced with, the choice of a specific tactic for solving the problem depends.
1. The wrong problem is solved and / or in the wrong ways.
The story described above is just from this series. If you formulate the essence, then a problem is solved that does not need to be solved at all, doing what should not be done.
Another similar story was with the search for headphones for mobile phone Motorola v360. In the process, I went around about 20 communication salons. Approximately 15 of them did not have headphones for this model, in 5 I was offered a mono earpiece. Naturally, I did not need it, since I wanted to listen to stereo music (this phone has a built-in mp3 player).
In general, after the 20th salon, I realized that I was doing something wrong :). Looking for discussions of this model on the internet, I came across a description of the same problem that I also encountered. It turns out that stereo headphones for this particular model simply do not exist in nature, however, there are headphones from another Motorola model that are also suitable for my phone.
Delighted by this discovery, I combed through about 5 more salons and finally found the coveted headphones! But then another problem arose, I could not test the headphones without buying them, because. they were in the package, and the seller was not going to break it just under my promise to "buy these headphones if they fit my phone." In general, I waved my hand and took a chance.
Do you feel how many difficulties and inconsistencies had to be overcome in order to solve this problem? :). Did the headphones work? Oh yes, they worked! :). I just didn't have to listen to music with their help. It turned out that the functions of the mp3 player in this phone model were extremely limited. Limited to the extent that the selection of the next song to listen to was done manually. Agree that this is not convenient. In general, this phone could not be used as an mp3 player. Although the phone itself is very successful. But not the point.
It was an example of how the wrong problem is solved and / or in the wrong ways. Plus, ignoring the 1st principle: you could find out the features of playing mp3 songs on your phone in advance.
It is obvious that the problem in this case was indeed solved "in the wrong way" and "in the wrong way." It was necessary to solve not the problem of finding headphones for Motorola v360, but the problem of listening to music in mp3 format. Probably, it would be more appropriate to buy an mp3 player here.
It remains to be added that the above described way of misusing the 5th principle will be especially popular for really active and purposeful people :). As they say: "a bad head does not give rest to the legs." In the absence of sufficient activity and purposefulness, another erroneous solution to the problem arises. We will return to it later.
2. Wrong time and/or wrong state chosen for problem solving.
There are times when you just have to wait. A very simple example: come to a stop, but there is no bus/trolleybus/tram. What to do? Just wait :). Or go to some institution, and there is a queue. If possible, it is best to look here another time, if not, then just wait. The situation is simply "not ready" yet, you are not here at the right time.
There is another option when not the situation is not ready, but you are not ready - an inappropriate state. Most likely, this is the case when awareness is weakened. This is a topic for a separate discussion, here I will formulate the most general provisions.
The degree of awareness is not a constant and unchanging value; it fluctuates throughout the day. This fluctuation is due to many factors, the two most important are emotional outbursts and poor health.
Bad feeling It's just a basic physical ailment. For example, my malaise is associated with fluctuations in atmospheric pressure. When the state of health is not very good, awareness/attention is also significantly weakened. And this can be the cause of many inconsistencies and difficulties in the real physical world.
You may not be able to reach the right people, on the bus, you can step on your foot for no reason, breathe in fumes, get rude, etc. It would seem, and here you are? The situation is like this. But in fact, you most directly affect reality by the intensity of your awareness, and this can cause both difficulties and vice versa - favorable combinations of circumstances, if awareness is currently increased.
I have found it prudent not to take on any serious tasks, not to make purchases, not to discuss complex issues, etc., if my awareness is significantly weakened at the current moment. If, for some reason, this needs to be done right now, then I try to do it more carefully and accurately, without getting involved in any risky events and acquisitions.
Considering the influence of your awareness on the events that take place, you can avoid many difficulties.
3. A difficult task is being solved.
The task that you are now solving requires much more time and effort than you imagined at the beginning, and it is not solved in one fell swoop.
It's also a pretty common situation. When I first started describing these principles, which was about a year ago, it seemed to me that, in general, everything was clear and simple. However, when I tried to do this, one very simple and straightforward question arose: "What should I write?" In general, everything seems to be clear, but what to write specifically?
The answer to this question has given life, observation and study of their own mistakes in the application of these principles. For a long time I had to return to this topic again and again, trying to advance in my understanding of these principles. Sometimes it looked like a dead end: “Well, I don’t understand, and that’s it,” but as soon as we move away from this for a while, to deal with some completely different issues, a fresh thought and a deeper understanding of this or that principle are suddenly born.
This is very close to invention and the creative process, one of the stages of which is the incubation or maturation of the solution. The solution of a complex problem does not appear suddenly and immediately, it takes time for the necessary information and intellectual resources to accumulate, and the solution is ripe.
The same popular example with Mendeleev, who had a dream about the periodic table of elements. Naturally, she dreamed not suddenly and not immediately, but dreamed after significant systematic effort and attempts to solve it.
If the task is really difficult, then most likely you will have to repeatedly approach it and move away from it. This is somewhat reminiscent of a ram from medieval wars. They hung a huge log on a mobile installation. They rolled this device to the gate and rocked the log. When the amplitude became sufficient, the log began to hit the goal. Then there was a reverse movement, and the log, like a pendulum, moved away from the gate for a while, and then returned again, reinforced by the movement of the people who accompanied this ram.
Once again, the main idea is that solving a complex problem requires some time range and systematic effort - multiple approaches.
One of the clearest examples of such a task is the path of the warrior. The task of achieving freedom is solved over the course of many, many years, throughout life.
The main difficulties in using the 5th principle:
1. Didn't notice. The unexpected and incomprehensible is simply not noticed.
2. Haste and impatience. Instead of "walking away", thinking about it, waiting a little, the problem is solved in a hurry, as a rule, on the basis of "the only right decision".
3. Only the right decision . Due to the haste, the problem is not really studied and the first solution that comes to mind is proposed, which seems to be the only true and correct one. All others are not even considered.
The first three points of this classification can be combined in one word - false clarity, or erroneous knowledge. These are its three components in the context of this principle (returning to the earlier conversation about false clarity).
"Faced with the unexpected and the incomprehensible and not knowing what to do with it, the warrior retreats for a while."
The biggest difficulty and failure to use this principle is that we often don't know what to do, but we think we do. Indeed, what is the point of me retreating when I know what needs to be done. Often, this knowledge turns out to be imaginary, and clarity is false.
This false clarity leads to completely idiotic solutions and attempts to solve the problem with one dashing swoop or head-butt, resulting in wasted time, resources, and exhaustion.
4. "Leave and never return". This is the same erroneous solution to the problem in the absence of sufficient activity and purposefulness. The problem in this case is not solved at all. A person encounters some kind of difficulty and calmly walks away from its solution. Even if it turns out later that it was good decision: to leave this problem altogether and do nothing, then this is rather a fortunate coincidence, and not the use of the 5th principle. This is the behavior of an ostrich, not a warrior. Maybe you will be lucky, and the problem will really not need to be solved, or maybe you will not be lucky ...
The fifth principle clearly states: the warrior for some time retreats. Accordingly, he returns to the problem later. And if he sees that the need to solve the problem has disappeared, or, having thought it over well, he decides not to take on this matter, then he consciously makes a decision (and responsibility for it) about not having to do anything. But he accepts not because he is lazy, very difficult, etc., but because he has other ways to better spend his time and resources.
Completely legitimate questions on the 5th principle. How long does it take to return to the problem? And how many times can/should this be done?
I don't have universal answers to these questions. This is partly a matter of the specific situation and the reasons for the difficulties, partly your individual style and temperament.
It is necessary to determine the cause of the difficulties: 1) The wrong problem is being solved and / or in the wrong ways; 2) Wrong time and/or wrong state chosen for solving the problem; 3) The task is too difficult.
And based on the diagnosis, make a decision.
It may be a series of approaches / withdrawals if you think you are solving a difficult problem. What should be the interval between them? This question is for you. As you feel most comfortable. How fast can/want to progress in solving this problem, how much of your time are you willing to spend on solving this problem? How much time do you need to rest, gather strength and return to solving the problem? Please note that the fifth principle is most directly related to both the 1st (defining your goals and objectives) and the 3rd (decision making) and the 6th principle (meaningful use of time).
In conclusion, I would like to quote one fragment from Castaneda, which is most directly related to this principle:
"The four attributes of a warrior's lifestyle are control, discipline, endurance, and timing.
Endurance is the ability to wait patiently. Without impulses, without impatience - just calmly and joyfully wait for what should happen.
Timing is the ability to accurately calculate the moment at which everything that has previously been held back must be released. Control, discipline and endurance are like a dam behind which everything accumulates. The sense of time is the gateway in this dam."

This is my favorite principle. I think I felt it the best. From the same opera - \"There is a time to collect stones-and there is a time to scatter them\"... I worked as a translator. She translated interesting (!) articles from English into Russian, often the work had to be done in a short time. What did I do first? Of course, she immediately sat down and got to work, which is called\"on the forehead \". Not\"went \" quite often. It helped\"retreat \". Each time, you rightly say, the timing of the retreat was different, but the effect is always the same. I wondered how and why these simple and beautiful phrases caused me so much bewilderment at first and put me into a strong stupor.

That's interesting, my favorite principle too .... just more than once I got out of difficult situations precisely thanks to this principle .... here's an interesting fact .... they say even a person's memory works in a similar way .... if we, something sometimes we really want to remember, but we don’t remember, it’s best not to insist, because you’ll never remember like that .... but it’s strange that when you relax “doing something else”, you immediately remember ...

I think this is the most serious problem of Russians from the very bottom to the very top. As a rule (either at enterprises or in the state), any problem is ignored by management for a very long time (head in the sand) until it hits everyone and everything (At the state level, this period is 5-10 years) and then the leaders "decide" its hastily and as a result clumsy, which causes new problems.

In my opinion, all a person needs is to make a decision to be intentionally doing something, explaining exactly what the result will be. And if a person intends to remember, he will never forget.
I use game practice. For example, it's time to go to work, but I can't find the key. And usually this led to panic and haste and not finding the key.
But if you just explain that the keys started a game of hide and seek in which you are, by definition, the winner. The information has nowhere to go, and I put them somewhere. As a result, I remember where they are and find

My story about the fifth principle)
This morning I really wanted to eat some delicious nishtyakov. Like a little cake for tea. I really, really wanted to. Well, I went to the store. There was no cash, so first you had to visit an ATM.
A maximum of five minutes walk from my ATM house. The store is located right next to this ATM. The entire operation should have taken a maximum of 15 minutes.
The required ATM was located in our regional branch of Ukrtelecom. Which, it turns out, has a day off on Saturday and Sunday ... Well, I did not break off, and went to ATM No. 2, fortunately, it is not very far away.
When I got there, ATM No. 2 pleased me with a message about the service being performed now and a big queue waiting for the end of this service.
Okay, as they say, the legs feed the wolf - I went to ATM No. 3, already far away. To find on it exactly the same message and about the same queue in size, but consisting of pensioners alone.
Everyone knows what it's like to stand in line, in which there are pensioners... So I didn't stand there either. And he went on a long journey straight to the ATM number 4, the last one in the area.
Even from a distance, approaching him, I saw that there were only two people standing in front of him, and the first one was not just waiting, but being serviced - which means that the ATM is working! I almost ran. Ran just in time to see the second man standing there, who tried to get money, the ATM gleefully reported that "equipment failure or this ATM ran out of money."
I stumbled back. It would seem that everything is not destiny. On the way, I again passed by ATM No. 2 - well, I think I’ll turn back to him, what do I have to lose already.
Wrapped up. The service ended, but the queue during this time not only did not decrease, but even seemed to increase. Also replenished with a flock of smoking bastards who manage to smoke for the whole line at once.
Nevertheless, I decided to stand in line - again, because there was nothing to lose.
Got up. And three minutes later, exactly between me and the person standing in front of me, a hefty fat absolutely black cat passed.
It's not that I'm superstitious, but after everything that happened ... I turned around sharply and, without looking back, moved home.
This whole crusade took me about an hour and a half. Now I sit tired, cold and with a runny nose.
And now the question is: why the hell did I go to the store for some kind of cake, if at home there are two packs of cookies and full cellar jams for every taste?

I can explain this situation like this! As I see it, initially everything went wrong, there were signs that you should not continue in the direction of the goal, because the path was closed from the beginning! You failed to see the signs that clearly indicated that the path was closed. Exactly the same story happened to me. Two years ago, it was like this. One day I wanted something tasty and I definitely decided to go to the store, so the first thing that should have stopped me was that I couldn’t find the keys for a long time, although they were in a conspicuous place, then I got on my bike and after driving three meters the chain fell off This did not stop me, although I was already on edge when I was looking for the keys. Then along the way, the dogs barked at the bike, although the dogs never touch me at all, I am friends with them. Well, somehow I got there, stood still in line, as people came running on purpose! And I stood angry, because one aunt chatted with the saleswoman and prevented her from lowering people! Well, in short! All the same, I bought almost what I wanted and went home. In general! After a mediocre yummy, after 30 minutes my stomach seized so much that I thought I would not live to see the evening at all! Since then, I do not eat store-bought pastries, sweets, ice cream! After this poisoning, my body does not accept anything like that! I conducted an experiment and literally 1.5 years after this incident, I ate candy on NG !!! 1 candy almost moved the horses! Well, in short, at one time I did not see a bunch of signs that showed do not go! Stop! But now I bake everything myself and cook only from natural products and the weight is stable and I feel good! What an experience!

I also had a Motorola v360.
Somehow, already for another pipe - SonyErricson K790I, I was simultaneously looking for: headphones, a USB cable and a USB flash drive. Headphones were found in one of the shops in the market. The cable I needed, by chance, ended up with one of the saleswomen, who once used the same phone. By the way, I had to walk to her ...)
And the flash drive was found in the last store that I "punched" that day. And yet, somehow she caught her eye. Before him, too, had to "walk".
I didn't have to retreat at all. It can be assumed that because, before going in search, I elevated the "unexpected" to the category of "probable", and the "incomprehensible" to the category of "understandable". The transformation of the territory into its own, apparently.

1. The wrong problem is solved and / or in the wrong ways.
2. Wrong time and/or wrong state chosen for problem solving.
3. A difficult task is being solved.
4. "Leave and never return"
In general, these problems could be covered by answering questions in the direction of "to be or not to be", while working out 3 principles:
1. Do I need it?
2. Is the time and situation right for this?
3. Am I ready?
4. Do I need it?
We can say that these problems are the result of ignoring these issues.

A long time ago I read Castañeda, everything. At that moment, there was a clear feeling that nothing was clear, and it was too early to see, put it aside. And now what I read plunges me into a culture shock ... it turns out that I intuitively do a lot of things just like that, I just explain in other words (here is this particular section: don’t hit your forehead against the wall if you’ve almost whipped your forehead, step aside and let it heal ... ) to whom I advise, and who knows how to hear: it helps, I was surprised. And that's what it is, or Castañeda emerges from the subconscious, or it itself so simply develops intuitively in many ways ... I don’t understand in any way yet. But interesting and informative

I also had a similar situation, somehow my phone was stolen, it had an anti-theft program, I waited a day, decided to buy another phone, looked on the Internet, chose a model, looked at the site where it is sold, went to that store, arrived, I found that this model is out of stock. Okay, I thought, then I’ll go to another, in the end, I didn’t find this model that day. The next day (Monday) I went to a remote store, and all the same I found this model and bought it. And what do you think? I literally got my old phone back the same day.

When it comes to solving complex problems, almost everyone already knows that you need to do something else for a while if things have stalled.
And here is the scientific explanation:
“When confronted with a new task, a person tries to apply strategies that have been successful in solving problems in the past. This works great in cases where the last task is similar to the previous ones. However, in many situations this is not the case, and then a solution from the past gets in the way of thought and does not allow the emergence of new, perhaps better solutions. ... A person, in order to get to some new idea, needs to take himself off the beaten track by an effort of will. "It is necessary to actively suppress and slow down the experience of previous experience. Until the previous the attempt is fresh in your memory and as active as possible, you will only get better and better versions of the same approach. Nothing fundamentally new will be born. "Incorrect answers do not let new thoughts, including correct ones, block their way....
Olsson's Inhibition Principle explains why insights often come in the pool or in the shower. It has nothing to do with water, it's just that when you are distracted from the problem, the control of consciousness over thoughts weakens. Apparently, this technique works even if you switch for only a few seconds. The next time you're doing a crossword or other puzzle, try this experiment: when you're at a dead end, take a few seconds off your feet and do something completely different (something very simple, just tie your shoelaces or stretch; the main thing is - don't think about the puzzle). After that, return to the task again and see what happens. ...
This feature of the brain also explains why outsiders often easily find a solution to a problem that has baffled you. Others are not connected to your way of thinking and did not fall into your mental rut. ...
There is also a strong correlation between insight and a person's emotional state. The happier he is, the more likely he is to have insights, while increased anxiety lowers this probability, which is related to the brain's ability to pick up weak signals. In a state of anxiety, the overall background activity of the brain is higher and there are more random electrical signals around; it is much more difficult to distinguish among them the necessary, moreover, weak, signal. When there is too much noise around, it is difficult to hear soft speech. ("Brain. Instructions for use." David Rock)
