How to make a horseshoe out of cardboard with your own hands. Do-it-yourself horseshoe as an amulet and an original gift. Thread horseshoe master class
Amulet "Horseshoe". Very interesting, beautiful amulet. It has long been believed that finding a horseshoe is good luck! City life is different. It is unlikely that anyone will be lucky to suddenly find a horseshoe... It will truly be a miracle!!! It must be remembered that the horseshoe above the front door from the side of the street is hung with "horns" down. Then, allegedly, any evil spirits will slide down the horns into the ground and will not enter the house! But in the house ... Here the horseshoe should hang "horns" up, thereby forming a bowl. Wishing: "Let your house be a full cup and your happiness be complete!" - we decorate the horseshoe with many beautiful elements, each of which has its own meaning, symbolism. The more sincere wishes, the more beautiful the amulet will turn out. When creating amulets, you must follow some rules:
Rule one. Wards cannot be crafted for yourself.
Rule two. No one can force anyone to make an amulet for themselves or beg to do so. Amulets are made only of good will and from a pure soul.
Rule three. The strongest amulets are those that are made, made for you by your blood relatives: father, mother, brother, children. Marital ties are not traditionally considered to be consanguineous, but if the marriage is harmonious and happy, mutually created amulets also have great power.
Rule four. You need to be very careful about the choice of materials for amulets, because often the material (stone. Wood), which is good for you, is completely unsuitable for the person you are creating this amulet for.
Rule five. In the process of creating an amulet, you must constantly think about the person for whom you are making it, keep his image in front of your mind, feel his energy, mood, character, needs.
If you strictly follow all five rules, the amulet you made will really be able to protect its owner from many troubles and misfortunes.

(from the book by Angela Sheptuli "Do-it-yourself home amulets")
Further, in the works, I will not comment on what which element stands for and symbolizes.
Let's take a horseshoe.
The base is made of plywood, but corrugated cardboard glued in 2 layers is also quite suitable. "Horns" we make out at our discretion. I wrapped it with linen twine. It has a fairly even thread, a beautiful color.
Let's consider it in detail. This is how the "top" of the horseshoe looks like. Leaves and chamomile well mask the carnation on which the amulet hangs. A pair of woven bast shoes. In one of them is a nest, a chicken, and in the other a coin. Everything is decorated with bright greenery.
We sew three bags. One is bigger and two are smaller. The size is arbitrary. We make faces. If it is not possible to buy ready-made eyes, then you can use buttons painted under the eyes. We make a beard from tow (linen). "Hats" of bags We fill with nuts, corn, beans, peas, lentils, seeds, etc. We also decorate with greens.
This is what the right side of the horseshoe looks like.
Closer to the big bag. Ready eyes, bean nose, tow mustache/beard. The mouse is a special item. The mice are thrifty, everything is pulled into the house. By planting this animal in the amulet, we thereby wish the owners to be thrifty, thrifty, so that everything is brought into the house, and not vice versa! We fill the “hat” with large seeds: hazelnuts, beans, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds. Decorate with small greens. We cover with 1-2 layers of colorless varnish. It will shine, less bugs will "look" there.
This is how the "caps" of the bags look like. Between the grains and nuts we insert small leaves, blades of grass. The horseshoe is ready. And a souvenir, and a charm! How does one perceive.
Ladybug is a must! You can plant birds, if any.
I apologize for the quality of the photo. This horseshoe is completely molded from salt dough. Its size is quite large (30*40cm). Decorated with fruit garland. Such a horseshoe is more suitable for a talisman, since only natural materials were used for its manufacture: flour, water, salt (small "Extra"). You can paint it, as in the photo, or you can just bake it in the oven until golden brown, open it with varnish ... It feels like it's made of wood! You need to hang a horseshoe with the "horns" up so that they form a "bowl".
Different horseshoes in size, but the same dough.
Also a small stump.
And another one...
And this is the work of my students! Valya Kislaya decorated a wooden horseshoe with burlap.
House bags are made of rough linen (board).
This work was done by Ninika Tatiana. Based on corrugated board. "Horns" are processed with hemp twine. It is coarser than linen, looks like a thin vine.
Chugaeva Nastya decorated the work in her own way. The material (base) is the same.
And that's another idea. If there is nothing at hand but linen tow, but you still want to make a horseshoe, Nastya Chugaeva suggests ... Weave a braid out of tow, thicker. Roll up the bowl, pull off the "horns" with a thin braid of twine, glue the bottom (on the reverse side) with cardboard and decorate to your taste and possibilities. It turns out very original.
And this is a restoration. Somehow the girls brought us a charm eaten by bugs. The new one must have been beautiful. But the dust settled on dried fruits, and then the worm bugs did not take long to wait. We have removed all this "unhealthy feast". Cleaned up for a few days! Carefully varnished. The chalk house was immediately transformed. And then they decorated it with nuts, seeds, models. Somehow they gave me a cute garden scarecrow, so we put it behind the wattle fence. As there was! Instead of a garbage dump, the souvenir has found a second life.

A horseshoe for good luck is an amulet that has been used since ancient times. On its basis, more than one saying and belief was invented. For example, the well-known "To the one who found a horseshoe after the horses on his way, luck will turn to face him." Moreover, its unique properties and characteristics have been known for a long time, the first mentions in history were found in the burial places of emperors in 481 BC.
The object was placed there so that in the other world it would bring good luck to its owner, in those days nothing was done just like that. And now in the 21st century, the old amulet has not lost its popularity and is used by people who hang it over the front door. What is the reason for such popularity?
What rules to follow
A horseshoe for happiness after horses is the oldest amulet among the Slavs, which gives a person the opportunity to get rich and makes him more successful, we can say that this is a kind of ticket to the Klondike. They used it like real horseshoes, hanging them in a dwelling, putting them under a pillow for good luck, wearing them around the neck in the form of a pendant, on the arm as a pendant on a bracelet, and even made themselves a tattoo with this image. There are even some fortune-telling in which a horseshoe is necessarily used. However, if you want to create a charm with your own hands that will work for you, you should follow some rules when creating it.
- It is forbidden to create a horseshoe for yourself, it is considered that it is better to give a horseshoe as a gift, this does not apply to the original horseshoe after the horse
- When you start creating an amulet amulet, you need to free your thoughts from negativity, think only about the good and believe in yourself.
- The most powerful talismans are those that were donated by the closest people, that is, relatives or parents, as well as brothers and sisters.
- It is important to think through all the nuances, that is, carefully choose the material, in accordance with the preferences of a person, his zodiac sign, and so on.
- It is important during creation to think about what you would like to wish to the person for whom the horseshoe talisman is intended, nothing else should be in your head.
Is it possible to make a horseshoe for yourself
Unfortunately, it happens that the desire to have a horseshoe is great, but there is no one to give a charm for you. What to do in this case? How to make a horseshoe with your own hands and then hang it over the door? Of course, this scenario may be an exception to the rule, and you will be able to make a horseshoe yourself without outside help.
In order to start the implementation of the amulet in the classic version, you will need:
- Several material options (cardboard, burlap, twine, wood, and so on)
- Mirror (size up to 50 cm in diameter)
- church candle
It is necessary to draw the contours of a horseshoe on the mirror, using the wax of a melted candle for this. It is important not to make the horseshoe too big, it should at least approximately correspond to the actual size. Then, in turn, lay out on the mirror all the materials that were prepared in advance. It is important to do this with your hands closed so that the sensations are sharper and more distinct. Your task is to put your hands on the mirror from the materials and carefully listen to your feelings - whether this material is what you were looking for or not. Do not worry, it will be very easy to make a choice, because with the help of a mirror, the energy is amplified several times and positively charged materials will make themselves felt. If you clearly felt sympathy, stop at this material and take it as a basis.
After the choice is made, you need to carefully cut the workpiece and, if necessary, fill it with filler for volume.
You need to choose only natural materials, such as cereals, hay, and so on.
Such a horseshoe, made for happiness with your own hands, can be carried with you, discreetly in a bag or in a purse, if we are talking about a man. Good luck will be with you just as long as the amulet is of particular importance to you and is in close proximity to you. The horseshoe is a symbol that will work as long as people believe in it.
Features of the manufacture of a horseshoe
As mentioned earlier, the previous version of the horseshoe amulet is classic. However, in order to endow the horseshoe with additional characteristics, that is, to add additional strength according to individual needs, you can supplement it with various symbols:
- A bag of happiness is a small bag sewn onto a horseshoe, in which a coin, paper money, beans, a rose petal or a four-leaf clover (four-leaf) flower are usually placed. These are symbols of financial well-being, well-fed life and love, it is their attraction that is one of the reasons for using a horseshoe;
- Dried pepper is a symbol of a man, his masculinity and courage;
- The crust of a pumpkin or its seeds is a female symbol, personifies the feminine and motherhood;
- Corn seeds or a small cob - a symbol of fertility and procreation;
- Walnut - wisdom and intelligence;
- Dried herbs (any) - symbolizes health and protection from major diseases;
- A crust of bread - harmony and harmony in the family, help in creating a new one;
- Coin (separately, not in a bag) - accompanies success in work, career advancement;
- Onion, garlic - are a reliable protection against the other world, evil spirits, evil eye and damage;
- Sunflower seeds - symbolizes prosperity and well-being in the house;
- Any berries - will help ensure that everything is fine in your sex life;
- Apple or pear - often sewn or glued to a horseshoe by those who work in gardens or fields, as it contributes to a better harvest;
- Wicker shoes (bast shoes) - usually woven independently from vines or hay, symbolize the house, as such;
- Straw broom - will take away conflicts and quarrels from your home;
- Pine cone - will give additional strength to work;
- Poppy seeds - will help make your dreams come true;
- Dill or bay leaf - will reveal your talents and abilities, with their help it will be easier to succeed.
We make a horseshoe amulet for an apartment
If we are talking about a horseshoe as a talisman in the 21st century, it is worth saying that it must comply not only with the canons of the talisman, but also approach the interior of a single apartment or house. We will tell you step by step how to make a horseshoe from improvised means, without making any special material costs for this.
- The basis of the amulet will be a piece of plywood or thick cardboard, if the first one could not be found. On the Internet, you can find a lot of templates and patterns, according to which you can cut out a talisman blank. If you draw well and have a great imagination, of course, you can draw everything yourself;
- After the workpiece is ready, you need to cover it with a cloth. Usually burlap, twine or linen is used, since both fabrics are natural, and both of them are well dyed with dyes if you want to change the color of the horseshoe. For edging to hide fabric seams, you can use a self-woven thin braid, for example, from twine, which you can weave yourself or buy ready-made.
- Now we find out what should be located on the horseshoe itself. At the top you need to place a flower, preferably a chamomile. The fact is that this flower has long been a symbol of goodness and trust.
- Below, as expected, bast shoes are attached, because our amulet should have legs. However, in order not to be naked and barefoot, you need to put a small coin in one of the bast shoes. On the left or right, you can install a wicker laying hen on eggs, a rooster or other birds, as a symbol of unity with God, bags, which were described earlier, and so on;
- Nails or hot glue can be used to secure parts and components. The latter is filled into a nozzle - a gun, which greatly facilitates its use;
- It is recommended to use as much green as possible in decorating horseshoes (you can decorate with leaves, grass, make the base color green, and so on). This shade symbolizes nature and the unity of man with it;
- It is worth saying that on the Internet you can find a lot of photos from master classes with examples of the work of professionals with a horseshoe. They are distinguished by color, size and number of details, each of them means something. You can choose for example one that will not only appeal to you externally, but will also not be too difficult to perform. This is especially important for those who are not particularly fond of crafts, that is, for the first time they will do something with their own hands for the home.
Material for making decor
All the decorations that were written about earlier can be purchased ready-made, or you can do it yourself if you have the desire and opportunity. For example, in order to make strawberries or sea buckthorn, you can use regular dough with a lot of salt. In the people, this type of dough is called salty. How to prepare such a dough? It is necessary to take salt and flour of the first class in the same amount. Then gradually add warm water to the mixture, mixing thoroughly. As a result, you should get a fairly elastic material, reminiscent of the consistency of dough for dumplings or dumplings.
Shape the dough into the necessary parts, then dry them. To do this, use an oven preheated to 50 degrees, or simply hang the dough outside, of course, if the weather is without rain. After the material is completely dry and hard, you can start coloring the dough. To do this, you can use ordinary paints, for example, borrowed from your child. It is important after applying the color, to fix the result with regular nail polish. It will protect the color and also add shine.
If we are talking about how professionals work with horseshoes in master classes, of course, salt dough is not used here. They work with more durable materials such as:
- porcelain
- polymer clay
- plastic
Is it possible to make a horseshoe from salt dough
A method for making parts for a horseshoe from salt dough was previously described, but nothing can stop you from making the horseshoe frame itself from this same material, especially since it is quite simple and understandable. On the Internet you can find a lot of master classes on this topic, here we will give the simplest and most understandable one, describing each step of making a horseshoe from salt dough with our own hands in as much detail as possible. It is worth saying that even children can participate in this process, as it is 100% safe, and also occupies children of any age.
- The first thing to do is replace the dough. How this is done has been described previously;
- Next, using a rolling pin or a bottle, carefully roll out a layer no more than 2 cm thick;
- Using a knife and a pattern, cut out a horseshoe, that is, a blank for it;
- After that, put the base of the dough on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and place in the oven, preheated to 100 degrees. You do not need to completely dry the horseshoe, but only prepare it for the next step. Therefore, in the oven, she will spend only 5 minutes;
- Place all the decorations that you planned to make on the horseshoe and prepare in advance small holes along the edges for decorative ribbons;
- After that, place the future horseshoe in the oven again, but now for 15 minutes, that is, until completely dry;
- After the amulet has become dry, be sure to completely cool it, then proceed with painting with any paints. However, preference should still be given to acrylic paints, since they are applied more evenly and do not need an additional fixing layer of varnish;
- The final step in making a horseshoe from puff pastry will be decorating the base with decorative ribbons, which symbolize the completeness of the amulet, and will also tie all the details together.
It is worth saying that a salt dough horseshoe is quite fragile, so you need to use it carefully.
Horseshoe - magnet
If you do not want to make a large product, then you can give preference to small horseshoe magnets. They can also be made with your own hands at home from improvised means.
For the base, it is recommended to choose a small piece of cardboard or plywood. In any case, it should not be too heavy so that the magnet can hold it, for example, on a refrigerator. Then you need to cover the base with a fabric, the principles of its choice remain the same. Decor and decorations are selected based on the preferences of each individual person. Here we will consider one of the options for making a coffee bean horseshoe magnet.
Making a horseshoe from coffee beans
In order to make a charm of coffee beans for the refrigerator, you need to acquire the following components:
- Coffee beans that have been roasted over high heat
- Thick cardboard is the basis for a horseshoe amulet made of coffee beans
- glue gun
- Wrapping cloth and scissors
- something to decorate
It is necessary to cut two halves of the horseshoes, the length of each should not exceed 15 centimeters. Then, using a glue gun, fasten them together. After that, you need to pull the capron onto the workpiece, it is on it that the grains will be glued. It is necessary to fill all the free space with grains. After that, you need to attach a magnet on the opposite side

How to hang a horseshoe correctly
There is a tradition of hanging horseshoes upside down, that is, on the contrary, only such an arrangement can give you confidence that the amulet will work. Let's take a look at the main features:
- Traditional placement - in the form of a full bowl, an inverted horseshoe, that is, hang the horseshoe down with the horns above the entrance
- If the horseshoe is placed correctly, that is, in a semicircle up, this will protect against the effects of otherworldly forces, but will not work for good luck

How to hang a horseshoe for good luck
The amulet can be bought or made independently, thus, the power of the amulet will only increase. A handmade horseshoe is the most powerful talisman. which brings only positive changes.
A popular amulet for the home is a horseshoe. It is common in Russia, England, Mexico, Egypt. Excellent protection is obtained from a horseshoe that a horse has lost, but in a modern city they just don’t roll on the road. You can walk along the hippodrome or the stable, or you can make one. This is a pleasant pastime and an original gift that will keep the house of loved ones from evil spirits, witchcraft, the evil eye and fill it with happiness.
Among the Slavs, the protective role of the horseshoe is associated with the attitude towards the horse itself, the breadwinner and the main worker. A horse is a sign of prosperity in the house. The poor could not afford to have a horse and pulled the plow across the field themselves.
Everything makes sense:
- the shape resembles a bowl when placed with the horns up;
- if you lower the ends down, you can see the pitchfork without one clove;
- the iron from which the horseshoe is made drives away evil spirits;
- the most effective - found on the road, shabby and rusty. Rust attracts diseases, prevents them from settling on the household.
The ancient Slavs even made miniature pendants to wear as a personal amulet.
There are legends explaining magical properties.
One day, a devil appeared to a blacksmith in the form of a horse. He began to tempt the blacksmith in every possible way in order to lead him astray and get his immortal soul. The blacksmith was not easy and guessed the insidious plan, he did not succumb to tricks. He began to shoe the devil and did it roughly, bringing suffering to the tempter. He begged for mercy. The blacksmith let him go, but took a promise that the devil would not dare to enter that house, over the door of which a horseshoe hangs.
That is how it has been for a long time. A horseshoe was hung over the entrance as a talisman against evil.
Experts advise getting a gold amulet, it is the strongest, bringing wealth, good luck and happiness to the house. But silver and iron are no worse. These are metals that evil spirits are afraid of.
How to hang a horseshoe
The effect of the amulet depends on its placement. There are endless debates on this issue. Perhaps due to the fact that beliefs differ in different countries, and the knowledge of different peoples has penetrated into our culture.
- In Europe. The ends point down. The amulet is hung from the outside of the house. It is believed that happiness will pour on the heads.
- In the East, in England, in Ireland. The horseshoe was directed upwards with its horns so that well-being would not flow out, but would accumulate. It was customary to place it indoors.
- Mexico. There are no exact directions in the direction, but in this country it is not customary to touch the talisman.
- Russia. Both placement methods are applicable. This depends on the value.
Horseshoe ends down
In this form, it is nailed outside the dwelling. This is protection from witchcraft, evil spirits and evil people, the evil eye. A horseshoe nailed to an unusual place attracts attention, surprises an envious or ill-wisher passing by. Surprise will prevent him from casting the evil eye and harming the house.
It is also believed that this way the tips will prick the unkind eye. One cannot even look at the house.
Be sure to place strictly above the door, because through it all evil enters the house. The amulet will hold all the negativity outside.
horseshoe up
She is nailed inside the dwelling. So the house will become a full bowl. It is necessary to ensure that there is no slope, otherwise happiness will spill out.
A horseshoe nailed in this way accumulates and preserves happiness, love, good luck within the family, and will not let them out of the house. Traditional placement above the door. You can find options: above the fireplace, above the bed, in the red corner. There are no such references in official sources. These are modern interpretations.
The horseshoe is nailed by the head of the family. For this, only one nail is used. The amulet should neither fall nor squint. It is believed that if a man can firmly nail a horseshoe, then he will be able to manage the household well.
These rules apply to both real horseshoes and handmade amulets.
Rules for creating a talisman
In order for a handmade horseshoe to have magical powers, you must follow the rules. Otherwise, it will be just a craft.

Do-it-yourself horseshoe making examples
Here are the most popular master classes. Choose depending on taste, materials available at hand and skills.
Thread horseshoe master class
For such a product take:
- Circuit. You can take corrugated cardboard, plywood, polystyrene, wood.
- Threads. Preferably natural. For example, hemp, twine, thick woolen yarn.
- Jewelry to taste.
Stages of work:
- Cut out the base. For this, a pre-printed template is used. Be careful with the choice of material. Corrugated cardboard is available, but under the weight of the threads it can break. Tighten the threads tightly will not work. Plywood holds threads well and is easy to use, but to cut the outline you will need a tool, skills to work with it and you will have to exert all your strength, and the edge will turn out with notches that will have to be sanded off, which will make a lot of garbage. It is difficult to cut a neat outline from polystyrene foam. Such material will break and crumble. Hardboard is good for crafts, but it is not sold in small pieces. In working with each material has its own characteristics, consider them when choosing. The most affordable is cardboard. For it, you need to choose thinner threads or glue two sheets for strength.
- We wind the threads on the base. The thinner and softer the base, the thinner and softer the thread should be. For cardboard, cotton or wool is taken. On the outer part of the horseshoe, the yarn will disperse, so you need to make several turns. You can tie the frame with a hook. Such an edge will look neater.
- You can consider the work completed. Jewelry is attached with universal glue.
- Holes are made at the ends of the horns, a braid is threaded. This decoration should hang inside the house, so we point it with the tip up.
Horseshoe for happiness from salt dough master class
Necessary materials:
- 50 gr. salt, 70 gr. Water, 100 gr. flour 1.5 s.l PVA glue for the dough.
- Paints.
- Tassels.
Manufacturing process:
- Hands knead the elastic dough. We have given the approximate weight of the components. Flour can be different, focus on the consistency of the dough. It should resemble soft plasticine. Don't use coarse salt. Such a base will not give the test elasticity.
- The base is being made. It can be cut with a knife according to a pattern or a mold. At the ends of the match, holes are made for the tape. If you need a relief, then it is created now. Dry the workpiece in the oven until half cooked at a temperature of 50 degrees.
- Decorations are molded and attached to the dough. On the leaves and flowers, you can draw veins or use a special form for modeling, where the texture is already drawn. The workpiece is baked until fully cooked.
- Gouache is applied to the horseshoe. Details can be molded and baked separately to make it easier to paint. After the gouache dries, the elements are assembled on PVA glue. It is best to use acrylic paints. Do not take acrylic for glass. It is bright, with a glossy sheen, but remains sticky for a long time on the test.
- The workpiece is varnished. This stage is the last. For this, acrylic varnish is used. If it is not available and nail polish is used, then it is better to conduct a compatibility test in advance. AK and varnish have different bases. There may be a content conflict. As a result, either the surface will be blistered and stained, or stickiness will remain.
The dough can be replaced with polymer clay. It's already colored, so you don't have to paint. There are species glowing in the dark, translucent or shiny. The product from this material is similar to the factory. The plastic is well molded, does not break when hardened. From polymer clay, you can mold a horseshoe in the form of a brooch, earrings, a fridge magnet.

The main thing in any amulet is faith, if you convince your loved ones that your gift brings happiness, then it will be so.
A security symbol that can be found more often than anyone else, even among non-superstitious people, is a horseshoe amulet. Sometimes it seems that this talisman is placed in the house intuitively, without fully understanding how strong it is.
The meaning of a horseshoe, the rules for its use and ways to make a charm with your own hands will be discussed.
The meaning of the horseshoe as a protective symbol
A horseshoe is a charm that was used thousands of years ago, various abilities were attributed to it:
- protection from damage, evil eye, misfortunes;
- attracting wealth and good luck;
- peace and understanding in the house;
- life without disease;
- saving things from thieves.
A distinctive feature is that it simultaneously drives away troubles and attracts goodness.
The most popular location for the talisman is the door of the house. This is not surprising, because a person’s dwelling is his fortress, the entrance to which must be carefully guarded from evil people and dark spirits.
Why a horseshoe?
Legends and parables of our ancestors are connected with the horseshoe as a talisman. According to one of them, the “horse shoe” acquired protective power thanks to a simple blacksmith, to whom the Unclean One himself came to shoe. After praying, the guy got to work. However, the Unclean One began to experience terrible, even for him, pain - prayer is a powerful weapon. Then he asked the blacksmith to stop, to which he took a promise from the Unclean One not to show his nose to those houses on which a horseshoe would hang. And so it happened.
In ancient Egypt, people rejoiced at the found horseshoe, because they were made of expensive metals - gold, silver, which undoubtedly brought material well-being. With income comes happiness. In Rus', iron had the same value for poor people.

Horseshoe for happiness.
In addition, any evil is afraid of iron - the main material for shoeing horses, and if it is already rusty, then no ailment will pick up.
It also mattered that this is an element from a horse - the animal was an indicator of wealth, high status, even the image of a horse is believed to bring good luck. Also, horses in all nations are associated with diligence, physical strength, good disposition. It was believed that a person would acquire such qualities.
In ice conditions, horses are shod with studded products for their safety, but for us, studded shoes from a horse are enhanced protection against witchcraft and damage.
How to use a horseshoe correctly?
How to choose an old amulet and how to handle it - the answers to these questions are of great importance.
How to choose?
Of course, if possible, it is better to find or buy a horseshoe from a real horse. It is the worn "shoes", maybe of an unattractive appearance, that will be the most powerful. Those who found the desired symbol should put a coin in this place as a token of gratitude, those who received it as a gift should give something in return, purely symbolically. But what is very dangerous is stealing the amulet, nothing good will come of it.
A more affordable way is to buy in a souvenir shop or make it yourself, and you can also purchase stylized jewelry (earrings, pendants, etc.) for personal use. This option is also not bad, because the main thing is to believe in magic, it is faith that makes ordinary things supernatural. There is only one amendment to the talisman, taken not from the horse itself - the material must be natural. Wood, stone, porcelain, metal products are suitable.
Application
Around the world, there are dozens of options for using a horseshoe, from which a single indisputable fact emerges - everyone believes in its power.
If you place it on or above the door, at the head of the bed, this will help cleanse the energy of the room. Outside, such an amulet will scare away envious people and evil spirits.
A miniature horseshoe hung in a car will save you from accidents and failures on the road, and on the windowsill in the house it will help indoor plants bloom luxuriantly. The design of the heel on the container with valuables or the heel inside it will protect them from theft.
If a married couple wants to have children, a horseshoe is attached above the bed. Girls dreaming of meeting their betrothed clung to a pair of heels over the stove. Three symbols together relieved alcohol addiction, and combined with a hammer on top of them - from the disease.
The wise Chinese place a heel from a horse exclusively above the door, but only if it faces the northwest, otherwise it is buried on the northwest side. In China, metal objects are not placed in the wood area, i.e. in the east and southeast, so as not to weaken the effect of the tree.
The procedure for placing a talisman
Before placing the amulet in the house or on the house, you need to recharge it. To do this, all family members in turn must hold the horseshoe in their hands, then its effect will affect everyone. You can hold it over the candles, whisper a prayer or your wishes.
Also, on the first night after the full moon, put the horseshoe on the windowsill so that the "horns" look at the street, in the morning it can already be used. Moonlight will give its strength. From time to time, you can put it on the window at night after the full moon, but only with "horns" in the room, this will bring income.
It is desirable that the owner of the house attaches the amulet, and the hostess is nearby. Regarding the fastening, everything is not so clear: someone says that you need to hang the amulet on one nail, someone on seven, others say that you need to hang it on a rope.
In Italy, the heel is not placed too high, so that when leaving the house, you can touch it for good luck, and the Mexicans, on the contrary, are higher from people so that no one can destroy the magic by touch. Our ancestors, the Slavs, placed a horse heel at the entrance, just above the door.
Position the "horns" of the heel down or up? This issue is the most controversial, therefore, deserves separate consideration. Immediately, we note that both methods are correct, just the action will be different.
The "horns" pointing upwards look like horns that will protect the house from enemies. It is also a symbol of a full bowl - prosperity, success, health, which do not flow from the home. In such an amulet, positive energy accumulates.
In commercial offices and for business premises in general, it is good to place the heel with the ends pointing up. In China, for example, they do just that, but in Tajikistan it's the other way around.
If the "horns" look down, then this is a sure way to protect yourself from the evil eye, curses, quarrels, evil and troubles - they, like an umbrella, will shelter you from trouble. Usually, this is how the amulet is placed outside the house, repulsing the dark forces on the very threshold, confusing them in their shackles.
It turns out that, depending on the goals and location, the ends can “look” up or down.
Master class on making a horseshoe
Any object from protective symbols will definitely work if you make it with your own hands and with love. From this master class, you will learn how to make a horseshoe amulet, what materials are suitable for this, and other nuances.
Of course, the best material for a horseshoe is metal. Silver, gold, iron are wonderful defenders in their own right. However, they are not available to everyone and even fewer people master the art of blacksmithing. Therefore, we choose improvised materials: threads (string or light-colored yarn) - for winding, fiberboard (plywood, corrugated cardboard, thick cardboard) - for the base, adhesive tape, needle, scissors, decor elements.
On plain paper, draw a sketch of the size you need. It’s not scary if it’s not perfect, the part will hide the decor, especially since it will not be a factory thing, but an amulet made by one’s own hands. Transfer the pattern to the material prepared for the base, cut along the contour.
On the back of one of the ends, fasten the tip of the woolen thread (string) with tape. Wrap the entire workpiece away from you. For strength, before wrapping, you can glue one side with double-sided tape. In the middle, the winding should be tighter than at the ends. Carefully secure the end of the thread with a small strip of tape.
Make holes on the edges of the horns (if the base is very hard, make them at the very beginning of the manufacture of the product), thread yarn or twine through them to hang the amulet, fasten the ends with knots. If the holes are very visible, mask them with fabric flowers, beads.
decoration
If you wish, you can decorate the product to enhance its influence. Birds, animals, fruits, vegetables, objects that bring certain benefits are cut out of dense fabric, beads, dried flowers, braid, etc. are sewn on. If the base is too dense, the elements are glued with hot glue. It is necessary to include in the decor the golden color - a symbol of beauty and wealth, red - from damage.
On top you can put on shoes with a coin inside - for family and material well-being, small bags of grain and beans - relatives will always be full, etc.
The horse "boot" is one of the oldest and most proven amulets, let it protect you too.
The incredible popularity of the horseshoe as a talisman continues unabated. Modern people still believe in the magical power of this amulet. Many people buy the treasured horseshoe in souvenir shops. But if you like creativity and do needlework, you can make a talisman with your own hands. The main thing is to invest positive energy and good thoughts in the amulet in the process of work.
History of the horseshoe amulet
The horseshoe is considered one of the most powerful amulets. Not only the Slavs believe in a wonderful talisman. Buddhists and Muslims are also convinced that this item brings happiness. Even skeptics, somewhere deep down, consider such a product a symbol of good luck. Even the inventor Edison said: "A horseshoe brings good luck even to those who do not believe in omens."
The roots of this belief stretch back into the depths of centuries. More specifically, ancient Egypt. As you know, the ancient Egyptian religious festivals were held with great pomp. The pharaoh and his retinue traveled in rich chariots. The horses harnessed to them were shod with golden horseshoes, which sometimes flew off horse hooves. Naturally, the one who found such a treasure in the road dust became a rich man, and his house became a full bowl. Centuries have passed, horseshoes were no longer made of gold, but of iron, and the sign worked. True, the poor had their own philosophy on this matter. No wonder the popular saying says: "For a horseshoe to bring good luck, you need to work hard like a horse."
Since ancient times, the horseshoe has been considered the most powerful amulet for the home.
What is a horseshoe amulet for?
It is believed that the horseshoe is capable of:
- bring good luck, happiness and prosperity to its owner;
- increase financial well-being;
- fulfill a cherished dream;
- clean the home from the negative impact and increase its energy field;
- attract the blessing of the Higher powers;
- bring good luck in gambling;
- protect from diseases;
- help find love
- give a sound and healthy sleep.
Until now, the horseshoe remains one of the most sought-after amulets for the home.
How to DIY
In a modern metropolis, finding a horseshoe is simply an unrealistic task. Therefore, in souvenir shops, the gift version of this product is a hot commodity. But the most powerful is the amulet made by hand.
Of course, there are a lot of options for making a talisman. Some require special training and equipment, such as woodworking. But there are also very simple horseshoe amulets that can be made from improvised materials.
Cardboard horseshoe
Cardboard can be found in any home. It often serves as the basis on which a variety of decor is subsequently applied. It is easy to make a horseshoe-shaped amulet from this material. Even small children can help you in this exciting process. For them, this will be not only an element of learning, but also a manifestation of creativity, the development of the ability to use the material at hand.
To get started, prepare all the necessary materials and tools:
- cardboard (preferably thicker, but thin is also suitable, it is easier to cut);
- scissors or a paper knife (necessarily sharp, otherwise the edges of the workpiece may be uneven);
- pencil;
- PVA glue or glue gun (you can do without it);
- twine, knitting thread or jute rope for fitting;
- various decorative elements.
You can also wrap a horseshoe with burlap, corrugated paper and even leather.

Corrugated paper serves as a good basis for applying further decor. Burlap on a horseshoe blank can be fixed with glue. A horseshoe covered with genuine leather looks very elegant
Manufacturing process:
- Draw an image of a horseshoe on the cardboard with a pencil. This is very easy to do, having a template at hand, you can download it from the Internet and print it.
- Using scissors or a paper cutter, carefully cut out the blank.
- To create the basis for future decor, the resulting blank can be wrapped with knitting threads, jute rope, twine or covered with burlap. Choose the thickness and color of the base to your liking.
- Fold the string in half. Thread both ends of the rope into the formed air loop and tighten the loop. It turns out a neat knot. You can start not from the middle of the horseshoe, but from one of the ends.
- Then process the entire workpiece in the same way. In order for the threads to hold tight and not move apart, it is better to fix them to the base with glue or a glue gun. The threads should fit snugly together during weaving.

- bows made of fabric, twine or multi-colored threads;

- Pick up coins. They need to be thoroughly cleaned with soda to give shine. Coins can be of any denomination.
- If your decor has space for banknotes, you can use both real banknotes and banknotes printed on a color printer. They can be rolled up, folded into a fan, flower, etc.
