How to make mushrooms for the garden with your own hands
How to make mushrooms for the garden with your own hands? There is nothing easier. Firstly, this element of the decor of the site can be created from almost any material. Secondly, the cost of such a product will be cheap, since for these mushrooms you can use all the rubbish that is unnecessary in the house. The only thing, perhaps, that will have to be spent - paint. Although if there are small children in the house, then such materials can be found with them. To create such elements of the garden, wood, and old plastic bottles, bowls or mugs (metal), water pipes, and for those who were engaged in construction, you can try to make mushrooms with your own hands from cement. There are a lot of ideas, the main thing is to find the one that is most acceptable for yourself, and with which you will be able to cope.
Mushrooms for the garden can be made from any materials at hand: the remains of mortar, polyurethane foam, polystyrene.
Ideas for decoration
Below you can find several ways to create these decorative elements for your summer cottage.
For the first option, you can use ordinary old trees. Small stumps are hewn out of such debris and buried in the ground. For a hat, you can use old pots or dishes. In the budget version, the use of a plastic plate is allowed, but only the material must be taken as dense as possible. To fix such a hat on the base, you can use either glue or nails.
Trimming old water pipes are perfect for mushroom legs.
Water pipes work well for legs. Mushrooms made from corrugated segments look very interesting. As for the hats, here you can use the same materials as in the previous version.
Such decor can also be decorated using ordinary clay pots. Only in this case, the pot itself must be turned upside down, and the lid fixed on top. As a result, pot-bellied mushrooms will appear in the garden.
One of the most difficult options is the creation of decorative elements from cement. Here you will have to sweat.
Initially, it is necessary to prepare a solution of cement and sand, which will later be poured into molds, for example, into plastic bottles.
As for the forms themselves, they can be completely individual, it all depends on the desired forms of the fungus. To create a hat, you can use kitchen utensils, or, again, make it from cement. A helmet in such a role will look very original.
For creative natures, you can advise concrete mushrooms to decorate on their own. For example, lay them out with broken glass, and then you get a bright colorful mosaic. Such an element will look especially colorful in the garden if placed in direct sunlight.
Gypsum mushrooms are created in a similar way. The only thing that can be advised here is to use paints for the final design. The main thing is to choose resistant to sunlight and moisture.
Excellent homemade products are also made from wood. But in this case, you will need the ability to own a chainsaw (if you plan to make large mushrooms) and a grinder. Although in general, cutting several elements from a log is not so difficult. In addition, the wood lends itself perfectly to staining, which can hide some of the flaws in the “workmanship”.
Glass is a great option for decorating your backyard. Flower vases can be used as a mushroom leg, and a salad or fruit bowl is suitable for a hat. For those who do not feel sorry for anything for their garden, you can also use crystal. But such products must be in the sun, because direct rays will cause such a riot of colors that you might think that there is a treasure chest in the clearing.
In general, there are a lot of ideas for decorating your site. In any of these options, this or that material will be needed, but everyone will be able to think for himself about what he can do and what will have to be left until better times.

We create a mushroom with our own hands from polyurethane foam
Mounting foam is very popular in construction today. But who said that it can not be used for the garden? From such material, you can create not only mushrooms, but even animals, but you still have to tinker. To perform such a craft yourself, you need to prepare the following tool and consumables:
- polyurethane foam (it is not necessary to choose the most expensive brand);
- a plastic bottle filled with sand, which will serve as a weighting agent;
- "Pedestal", which will serve perfectly as a box of sweets (medium size);
- a clerical or ordinary knife, but the first will be more convenient to grind details;
- facade and finishing plaster;
- a tool for applying plaster - a spatula;
- acrylic primer;
- paint and varnish.
To cut the mushroom out of the mounting foam, you will need a clerical knife.
All work looks like this:
Initially, the hat and stem of the mushroom are created separately. To do this, a bottle of sand is placed on a cardboard box. Further, layer by layer, foam is applied. For such work, there is a special gun into which the cylinder is filled, which makes it convenient to work with the material. It is very important to know that each subsequent layer is applied only after the previous one has completely hardened. To do this, you need to study the instructions on the mounting foam, this moment is indicated there. To form a hat under the base, you can also take a plate or bowl, which will serve as a frame for the future mushroom.
To make the formation of crafts easier, you should choose a mounting foam designed for winter work. The fact is that its consistency is thicker, which means it will spread less.
As soon as the elements are finished and they are completely dry, you can proceed to the connection. Since polyurethane foam is a completely pliable material, screws, nails or metal rods are used for fastening. For additional fixation, all seams can be treated with glue or the same foam. The product will also take time to dry.
After that, it is necessary to inspect the mushroom for cracks, holes or other cracks. If any are found, then they are additionally treated with foam. Next, proceed to the "grinding" work.
With the help of a knife, all excess is removed from the surface of the product.
It is worth noting that at the end of such work, new voids may appear on the mushroom, which were not previously visible (after all, now the excess has been removed). They are eliminated with foam and a spatula.
Although, if desired, you can leave the "air" form of the mushroom. Here already everyone chooses individually.
For painting mushrooms, water-based paint is suitable, which, after drying, must be varnished.
As soon as the form is finished, it is necessary to moisten your hands in water and squeeze out a little material on them, and then gently smooth it over the surface of the resulting structure.
This will allow you to give a smooth shape, without much roughness. And again, the fungus will need some time for the final drying.
The next step is to apply a primer. By the way, at this stage, such an autopsy can be replaced with the most ordinary glue for wallpaper.
The coating goes from top to bottom, without missing a single section. Leave the primer (glue) to dry completely.
